I don't know how anyone would prefer the way it looked before. The is the most obvious upgrade of all time. The only thing I am not hot on is the full-body portraits in the character select. We already have 2 different styles with the face portraits, a third style makes it all kinda visually confusing and I am not a fan of that Mario Strikers style for those. Plus they’re too big and it makes the character select screen look kinda bad especially if you pick a character that has one of the larger portraits

We need MVC4 to have stages from all over the world and have good chars such as Wolverine, Gambit,Cyclops,Night Crawler,Storm,Rogue,Magneto,Omega Red,Juggernaut,Mr.Sinstser,Apocalypse,Ryu,Guile,Akuma,Blanka,Cammy,Chun-Le,Mr.Bison,Jill Valentine,Deadpool,Punisher,Spiderman,Venom,Carnage,Green Goblin,Dr.Doom,Fire Storm,Black Heart,Mega Man,and bonus chars like Spawn,Hell boy,Predator,Aliens. That would be an awesome game but they will never give us just good chars and they will put alot of crappy chars in it. MvC4 can be amazing but they willn't give us all good chars and stages.I don't think it will ever happen.

it's mvc bro it's always been like that. Comic book sprites for the characters and 3d backgrounds. MvC2 literally had 2d sprites looking straight out of a comic with early 3d graphics for the background.

You definitely wouldn’t want the backgrounds to be shaded fully like the characters, otherwise it would be really hard to see them at speed

@@ArynWellspring no one is saying to shade the background the same as the characters. you can still have hand drawn environments that dont clash with the characters if you shade the backgrounds correctly so the whole game looks like its one consistent universe. SF Alpha 3 / Third Strike / Martial Masters / Last Blade / Breakers etc all look good. but 2D characters in a 3D environment always looks bad is too jarring and makes the game look like a fake fan project with no thought on consistency in its overall art style and presentation

That's because some of the background stages haven't been changed yet. If you want a good map the only current maps that match the style is Training/Danger Room and Onslaught Rooftop stage. Other than that, the mod will be updated to make the other stages match the graphics of the new style.

I think what max did with the game is amazing and phenomenon. Although there were changes and tweaks that improved the game for the best, but the roster list is still the same I was hoping to see the modded characters added to the game. I recall there was video back then where they added cyclops, gambit and wolverine (I think???). I had hope that they will show up and a few others in this iteration on the game. may be in a future update should they have the budget, time and probably the blessing of capcom and marvel would be a dream.

You should seriously watch Maximilian Dood's video/stream covering it. There are differences that this video doesn't show. There is literally a mode where you press F2 and you can allow a full on 4 player match.
