Unfortunately there PAC12 and Mountain West have little interest in these schools and the Montana schools. They are Isolated geographically and the TV market is even more sparse. All the other top FCS schools moved up years ago. These two aren't going anywhere because no one wants them.

The other problem with them is that if SDSU and NDSU move up so does UND USD MSU and M UND may not be equal to the others but all those schools are essentially rivals and need to stay together for the story

As much as I’d like to see teams like NDSU, SDSU and Montana State in the MWC or PAC-12, it just won’t happen. While they are all very successful FCS schools, it won’t work for the money. They for one are outliers in the pac 12 and MWC being over in the Dakotas and they aren’t incredibly high revenue generating schools (I’d suggest watching Dalukes’ video on C-USA potential expansion, he has a part where he talks about NDSU and SDSU and why they wouldn’t work in really any conference) and also I don’t think these schools would find it worthwhile to move to the FBS to become an above average G5 team when they could stay in the FCS and compete for national titles. They move to the FBS and they’ll never sniff another national championship

You say that but even for UM (a bigger market school) the lowest funded school in the MWC has tens of millions of dollars more for their athletic department budget. The talent is there for SDSU and NDSU but coming up with the money to make it work for not only football but all the other programs is a much bigger hurdle

It’s a good playoff, but wouldn’t work at the FBS level. The FCS has 24 teams and every conference champion in the playoff, at the FBS level that would be terrible. The difference in talent from conference to conference is much greater in the FBS compared to the FCS, if we’re seeing 20-30 point margins and dominations with a 12 team format, it would be terrible in a 24 team format

I'm a Bison fan and as happy as I am for the players and coaches to advance to the Championship on the road to Frisco, I feel like the game deciding touchdown "catch" by Bryce Lance was not a legit catch! It's a great effort but 8 times out of 10 I'm fairly sure officials would rule he did not have control of the ball before his feet touched out of bounds. The ball needs to be "secured" to be a catch he doesn't possess the ball cleanly in bounds. That said it was 2nd down so they had two more downs to either get a TD or an FG to put take the lead. The defense stepped up and made plays in crunch time but the ending could have played out a bit differently had the Bison not been awarded a TD on Lance's "catch". Hats off to both teams for a well played and memorable game.

How was the game decided by half-time 😂??? I was at the game, it was definitely not decided. The refs didn’t control the game, I will agree with that. However, even bison fans thought that it wasn’t a touchdown. He didn’t show any form of control while in bounds. Further, the facemask call on SDSU’s left tackle was an Illegal hands to the face which is only 5 yards, not a 15 yard penalty. SDSU lost but the plays the refs finally threw flags for were suspicious to say the least.

No longer do players feel loyal to the schools that recruited them, and instead just transfer year after year to whoever pays them more $$$. It's why I prefer nowadays the FCS, Div2, and Div3 CFB scene. Because at least they aren't corrupted by the NIL & transfer portal.
