As an Oregon resident, I am conflicted. The part of me that would like to see the title come to my home state is at war with the part of me that (as an Oregon State Beavers fan) would love to see the Ducks lose. Frankly, I think the Quacks are better than these guys give them credit for. Flaw #1 (IMO, of course) is giving the byes automatically to the four highest conference champs. Flaw #2 would be having the first round games at the better seed's home field. The home field advantage is by far the biggest in football, especially college football.

@@brendenstyre4784 he played bad for a stretch of 5 games, while at the time we had injuries all over our line and were constantly rotating guys around. he had no protection and tried to make too much happen. ever since guys have gotten healthier and we solved our line issues, he hasn’t turned the ball over at all. the last interception he threw was november 9th. also, 6 of his interceptions this year were not his fault whatsoever. yes, 6. people jus check the stats and find any reason they can to hate, even uga fans. half of them have been hating on beck all year because they don’t actually understand football. we are a much better team with beck, simple as that. he’s more experienced than gunner, can read defenses better, make adjustments better, and push the ball down the field better. also, to your point about notre dame. indiana played an awful football game. that was genuinely the worst game they played all year, and it wasn’t just because of who they were playing. notre dame did not play well either, but still “dominated” indiana because they’re far more talented and iu helped them all game long. they won handily, but they did not play good.

What happens when the SEC goes north into the cold? They get dominated like a Highschool teams. No wonder the SEC lobbied the NCAA for years to avoid playing outside of SEC territory. They can't travel. I have not seen southerners get beat so bad north of the Mason/Dixon line since Gettysburg '63. In the Big North Conference, we are not just geographically above the SEC. The Rose Bowl this year is basically the National Championship game, by far the two best teams.

If this week taught you anything (and because you are from the south, I do not expect you to learn much), it is that homefield advantage matters. It is why Vegas gives the home team 3 points in the spreads automatically. If the SEC played national title games up north, they wouldn't have many wins. Tennessee handled Georgia, and yet they could not compete in Ohio. You can tell that Texas is ashamed to be in the SEC, they are basically still a Big 12 team.
