Protip: when you're making dishes like this that require packing for presentation (like French ratatouille), having excess is better than not having enough, so if you wondering how many sweet taters or yams you need, just get 5-6 (they're generally cheap anyway). If you have extras you can use in other dishes, but sucks if you don't have enough and then they spread and sag all over the pan :)

Someone thought the butter was unhealthy. 2 TB of butter isn’t a lot for that amount of potatoes. Also unsalted butter if you can eat too much salt. Another asked if this recipe would be good with white potatoes. I think that would be very delicious and the cheese would work very nicely. Large gold potatoes 😊

An easy way to cover the sweet potatoes with salt and spices and butter: place everything in a large plastic bag and shake. Then transfer to cooking dish and arrange and bake. You can do the same with any kind of vegetable example potatoes, pumpkin, etc.
