This has been a great series. Reality check for all of us who think this is easy. I think with time, training and the right attitude, anyone could improve. As some say the best after market mod is driver training.

The grip generated by current slick tires is amazing and it takes a while to really lean into the tires and trust them fully. If the car also generates any kind of downforce, it gets even more complicated: the faster you go the better grip you get so in the end you lose a lot of time if you don't push the car. But, push it too much and you start overheating the tires, start sliding all over the place and again, you are back to losing time. It is not easy. Oh, and a lot of people think driving like a racing driver means abusing the car: sudden acceleration and braking, hacking at the wheel steering, etc. The very same people that will recognise a slide only when the backend of the car starts overtaking them.

I've been racing with Mike this year in the GRDC and been able to achieve 7 podiums out of 8 races and was able to get on the podium also when jumping up to the g40 Cup at Donington which i'm racing in next season. if you're looking to continue this series next year with another driver i'd love to get involved.

I did a few laps at Brands years ago, and to me Paddock seemed off-camber, so I was was always afraid of leaving the racing surface. I wish I could do it over again, with George in the other seat . . .

It's interesting to watch a driver who has to be coached to come up to the limit. I've always had to come at it the other way...I want to push too hard, but I go faster when I slow down and calm down 9 times out of 10.

I agree. Sounds like you you may be ready to raise the bar and have a few laps in a truly fast car, as a driver or as a pasenger. Even as a passenger you too will be slamming your foot down on your imaginary brake pedal halfway down every straight.

😂 I was wondering how long it was gonna be until someone noticed! It was a conscious decision as after setting up the cameras etc the first session was already running as we were in the parc fermé and only then did I realise the belts weren't loosening very easily (not like Mike had had many people in the passenger seat) and we had microphone wires already in place so I thought fuck it, not ideal but I wasn't about to cause more delays...if you fast forward a minute later you'll see that for the rest of the day they were used correctly. I'm not that stupid.😁 Good eye though. DM me next time you're at Bedford and you can judge for yourself if my instruction can be of value or not. Happy new year!✌

@@jorgecaladoracing Thanks for the reply! I was sure there was a logical reason, i was thinking after it may have been that the harness was 3' or something... I'm in absolutely no doubt that your instruction would shave many, many seconds of my driving. I'll be add Bedford 9th March if you fancy it. Tuition was something I was actually recently looking into, but had no idea where to start..

@@jorgecaladoracing Hey Jorge, I can only imagine how tough it must be being in full view of the public eye. You handled the raised eyebrows pretty well and looks like shaneasaurous has been converted from fan and critic to a fan and a customer. That's the sort of positive outcome you want from your interactions with the fans. Remaining humble and open to comment will see you through. Watching Tump vids on KZbin is great training on want not to do. Lolz.
