Great day out. Sad to see the demise of the huts. Have raced loads in ERRL events starting here. Wife did her first and only 200 audax on this route. Not a fan of fallow deer having been jumped on by one on an overnight 400.

No, you're right about deer - I seem to remember someone being killed by one in the same way perhaps ten years ago. Overall, though, if I have to choose between traffic and deer, I'll take my chances with the deer! 😂

Really - sorry - I've somehow missed the Facebook message. Road riding certainly isn't what it once was - not sure I'd start now if I were 18 again - but although I use virtual cycling platforms too I'd be very reluctant to stop road riding.

Thanks, Russ. Yes - lovely ride. I was on a fairly boring and basic old Dolan Preffisio, I'm afraid. (Great value, but the frame is fairly solid...doesn't absorb a lot of anything, so bumpy roads over long distances are interesting! 🤣) Hope you're keeping well.

The algorithm has taken a long time to deliver your channel to me, ironic considering how far apart we live! Enjoyed the video greatly but very sad to see the hut going. I very much doubt I'll ever do another 200km but it was nice to see glimpses of once familiar roads. What camera were you using?

Yes indeed. Hugely busy at the moment but am hoping to get back on the bike in the New Year, weather and old age permitting!
