A good insight, great to see you out and enjoying yourself so much! Most of the F1 teams have 5 or 6 sets of "standard" equipment that bounces around the world doing specific races, with one set usually staying in Europe most of the season. The "critical" stuff (cars/tools/spares etc) will go to every race. I've driven race transporters into Monaco several times, but it's interesting to see the place from another perspective. (Ex F1 logistics coordinator here)

Have watched numerous of eSysman episodes, which are all quite good, but this F1 episode was exceptional. I am a F1 fan since nearly 50 years, even attending the Monaco race in 1978 and numerous others since then. Never miss a televised race. All the F1 information given in this video was well informed and correct in all senses plus the additional Super Yacht coverage was terrific. Enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you! Of special interest to me was the price to moor a yacht as I owned a small 14 meter sailing boat in the Med during the late 70-80's and was able to moor in the Monaco Harbor twice in the months of June. I remember being tied up alongside a large yacht at the time and my boat felt so small. In the 80's the price was not per meter, but gross tonnage which converted into a real bargain 2 night stay for me in Monaco. A

Monaco, been there before, just not race week. Definitely on my bucket list! M/Y Loon did a live feed this morning of them docking in Monaco- it was even more deserted! The only downside was that they were stuck outside the marina for three hours waiting to be cleared to enter.
@Bubby8694 ай бұрын
Did they ever find out why the delay? I couldn’t stay to the end, but when I left, they were inside and it didn’t look that busy.
@lakashii4 ай бұрын
@@Bubby869 Just a complete guess, but Captain Paul said it will get busier tomorrow, they were early. It might just be that Monaco was giving the port workers a long weekend before it gets really busy, so the smaller team made it take longer.

Frankly, if Loon crew know Victoria and Rico from Nautistyles, they have to know you! Crash into harbor….John Franhenheimer’s 1966 masterpiece “Grand Prix” with James Garner has a car flying over hay bales into the water. The documentary on the movie is terrific and shows the day they filmed the crash into the water and how they did it. Bonus…James Garner goes ballistic at a local Monaco official. JK Charleston.

3:52 How can you just flit past one of the most interesting yachts (and my favourite yacht since she was launched) Yes I am THAT old! MY Zeus, ex enigma, Katana and originally Eco. She may be small by modern standards, but I’d cope with that. She may have a gas turbine, that never really performed as well as hoped. She still built by the Germans finest yard, to an amazing shape, and yes, I’d do my very best to talk myself aboard for a little looksee! Maybe one day a video on her, and her history / design would make fantastic viewing. Other than that oversight, a great video as always. 👍🏽😁

Just starting to watch this video but have to comment on your Big Smile. Fantastic. I'm perfectly happy to see and hear about the F1 Grand Prix. You can film the yachts anytime. Edit! This was great... I'd forgotten just how much I enjoy the dock walking and the commentary. It's interesting to me that the designer of Motor Yacht A and Sailing Yacht A has a yacht for himself which I think is attractive. I wonder how much he was "following the design wishes" of whomever ordered them. Do you know if he designed the one he owns? I hope you get to spend a ton of time walking around, looking at everything, and talking with friendly people. In beautiful weather, of course ✨️🌟✨️

My goodness how its changed. In the late 90's I had my little 36 foot Fairline in the harbour for the GP on the Riva pontoon which is where the GP paddock used to be. I kind of knew the guys that worked there and asked if I could tie up there for the GP weekend.. Most of the beautiful Riva classics were not put in the water until June so there was plenty of space. Not these days !!!

I did the Monaco F1 twice as Chief Engineer. I was on a charter boat one year and we had Marlboro/Ferrari as our guests. I met Michael Schumacher. An arrogant German. It was fun to walk the track in the evening but a lot of work to move the boats out to the security distance and back every day. Great video, brings back memories.
