One of my biggest pet peeves is when influencers introduce a product like this and repeat that they did it all for "you guys." So "you guys" can finally have this product. It bakes in the assumption that we owe this influencer our business. What happened to earning your customer's business and respect with an outstanding product and excellent customer service? We are supposed to be so grateful for a product few people need and almost no one can afford, because it was all "for you guys."

Responding to pseudoscience, pointing out all the obvious blatant lies they try to serve us on a plate, creating counterpoints and showing proofs with scientific background. That is what we need. another issue that made me feel this "uuhh man not you too" is that she often lashes out at influencers that come out with supplements that are not FDA evaluated or approved - and her product is also not FDA approved or evaluated.
@enenenergp
@enenenergp 3 ай бұрын
I mean the FDA just simply does not approve any supplements? Not hers or anyone else’s. They monitor for adverse events and proper manufacturing facilities and stuff after the supplement hits the market but abby could not have gotten it FDA approved or evaluated because it’s not the job of the FDA. FDA only approves and evaluates actual drugs. They does have some requirements for supplements that need to be followed, sure. So maybe in the past she has pointed out when those requirements/guidelines have not been followed? Or just generally reminded the audience that supplements are never FDA approved? Because I don’t think she’s that clueless.

Hi! I'm not writing to you because I want to be mean or criticize you in any way, but I just wanted to let you know that maybe financially supporting and advertising Mark Rober is not the best idea. He is a mormon and as you might know, a certain percentage of all the money he makes goes directly towards funding a cult that has very harmful beliefs and tries to harm LGBTQ people in any way they can. All mormons have to give 10% of their total income to the church, so financially supporting him, dierctly causes harm to LGBTQ folks among other explotative actions the mormon church does. He also hosted a huge event for his autistic son to destigmatise autism, and none of the special guests he invited were autistic (noone who spoke at the event was neurodivergent) and he likely didn't talk to any autistic people to make the event happen. The event was organised with the help of Next for Autism, a group that in the past worked with Autism Speaks (a terrible group that you should look into if you have never heard of them if you want to find out why it's a huge problem). I hope I didn't offend you or anything like that, I just wanted to inform you! I love your videos! I don't want to sound like I'm calling you out, I just thought you might want to know! I wouldn't trust any single person. And that does not mean Abbey is not a good source to watch for prefiltered information or just for fun. You should just use other scientific sources (Harvard Healthy, listen to podcasts where actual scientists are interviewed, ...) before you accept a claim as true. I watch a lot of people I think are way outside of the scientific consensus on some topics and misrepresenting the science on that topic. But they are generally good in presorting information. Their input is valuable even though it's not perfect.

@@theshunnedBandersnatch At least here in the US, medical claims are standing on seriously shaky ground. A little over a decade ago, Jamie Lee Curtis and Dannon got smacked HARD over their yogurt making specific claims about how much a wonder for your health it was. They didn't claim ~yogurt~ did X to your health, they specified why only ~their~ yogurt does it. It goes in, pretty strict rules about claims. On, looser rules, but still have limits. Around and/or about, sky is the limit until someone gets hurt badly enough the lawsuits start looking risky to a company. I can definitely understand this viewpoint, but I also don't know that expecting someone to make content without a profit motive is realistic? Content creators that *dont* have a product are still wanting to be paid for it. The money just comes via optimizing clicks and watchtime. Which means the are still incentivized to cater their content for their profit. They just profit the most from stuff that is sensationalist/ seeks drama. I guess its a shrodingers asshole situation where you can be corrupted by profit motives either way. And sometimes having more control over your income stream ( having your own product) makes you more intellectually independent. Aaaaaand sometimes it just makes you ever more ambitious and greedy until the creator no longer even tries to maintain the ethos they started out with...

Some strains from dairy free yogurts used to make me sick- but luckily my gut changed & I can handle it now :) Anyway I was disappointed Abbey would sell supplements. I simply don't listen to professionals who sell supplements. Always a red flag. Lol & monk fruit makes me so sick! She'd be better off not marketing to ppl with bad bellies like me. The digestive enzyme part makes me so angry. You shouldn't just take that stuff if you don't need it. This is more upsetting than I realized initially. Thank you, Swayze, for your videos.

Everybody exaggerates "optimal" protein amounts you should consume per day. A lot of people have a sort of phobia about not eating enough protein.
@annoyedaussie3942
@annoyedaussie3942 3 ай бұрын
There doesn't seem to be an optimal amount. Just being sufficient is all that is required for health with other behaviours more important. Based on the last available data i could find which is a bit old being 2007 from FAO organisation statistics Australians and US people eat a very similar amount of protein on a per capita basis, however Australian life expectancy is in the top 10 countries for the world and the US is sitting at about 45 , the worst performance of a wealthy country with upper middle income countries like Thailand and Costa Rica doing better on far lower protein diets. I have seen in comments sections of pro protein influencers people talking about eating 1gm of protein per pound or 2.2gm per kg of body weight. To me these people are actually carrying out an experiment on themselves. No natural diet other than the Inuit and a few others in northern latitudes and some dryland desert areas would ever come even close to those numbers and what was their life expectancy on those diets anyway.

It’s true, overheard a trainer at my gym today telling a dude to force himself to eat past being full…that’s not healthy. On the other hand, carb lovers like me would happily only eat like 20g protein in a day and not think twice, so I have to keep on myself to get in more as I want to build muscle. But it is POSSIBLE to build muscle even on bare minimum amounts - it’ll just take way longer. Speaking from experience, bc I refuse to force myself to eat food I don’t enjoy. Favorite recent life hack is a scoop of this combo protein/coffee/chocolate powder to my morning chai, for a delicious dirty chai/mocha type drink with some protein (10-15g or so) to start my morning and sip as I work (I hardly ever eat breakfast)
@jlhn
@jlhn 3 ай бұрын
@@Liz-kj2jj No, I actually understand the trainer on the gym lmao It's not necessarily unhealthy to eat more after you're full if you're eating protein; like believe me; when I was trying to build more muscle, I would eat lots and lots of protein and I was so full; but even with that it was H A R D for me to gain weight, almost like that protein was falling to a void 😭 But I started to see my skin and nails getting healthier, and a bald spot that I had in my head started to grow hair again And the thing is, for me it wasn’t possible to build more muscle without eating more protein; believe me I TRIED, one year of faithfully lifting weights daily (I was unemployed) without eating more protein because people told me I didn't need to, and nothing, more than that, I started to lose weight. But then I started eating more protein, and boom, suddenly I started to gain muscle within months. Again, I don't think it's unhealthy, at least for me it wasn't; but I will say that it's not cheap; I don't think most people realize that normally, you don't eat a very high amount of protein. Lots of proteins means lot's of meat, vegetables and grains; and that's a lot of money. Protein powder isn't cheap either Right now I stopped eating more protein because I found a job and it's harder for me to find the energy to start lifting again, but I want to start again, never felt more healthier than when I was eating lots and lots of protein

"neue" is a German word and means the same as "new". "neue" is the declension of "neu" (= "new") for female nouns - and Theorie (= theory) is female in German. So "neue Theorie" would be the literal German translation of "new theory" (you can also capitalize both words to signify that it is a name). So they translated the name to German and got stuck halfway through? As a German, I find it hilarious that Americans are now using German words to make brand names cool. It's the other way around of what I am used to. 😅

This is 100% a cash grab. As a dietetics student, I actually don't mind most of the stuff she talks about but this does it fir me. She goes on and on about the "evidence" behind the benefits of full fat dairy AND not needing supplements and then you make a vegan protein powder?! Wth. Her TEAM decided that was best and they came up with the formula that was likely taken from other already existing powders. They chose pea because its cheaper. Then she scrambled to find "evidence" on the nutrition claims to keep her license. The FDA won't vet her product but the FTC will absolutely come for her for her false health claims. I don't know about the Canadian Nutrition Accreditation counsel but the American one is also going after RD's making false nutrition claims in the media. I've already been through several of their webinars on all of this so it will be interesting to see how it all plays out

These are ALL "carnivores" who make insane claims about how apples and broccoli will cause cancer..... And the same goes for the vegans and fruitsrians......MANY of them are ALSO LIARS... I don't see how her believing full fat dairy is good (from a nutrient standpoint) clashes with her using pea protein in her product. It makes the most business sense to include a protein that is suitable for most people. Even if one isn't vegan, whey protein can cause gastro issues in people with certain conditions (e.g PCOS and IBS). Plant protein will be cheaper than animal protein, that's just a fact. I am disappointed in her approach with this product line, I think it's rather unnecessary since there are so many other protein powders on the market already and her usual emphasis on whole foods.

The amount of people who’ve tried to get me to take ashwagandha is wild as a person with IBS- the thing is it has side effects I’m not comfortable with, that’s probably why the dose is so low. Supplement testing is such an unregulated practice- so until I actually know what’s in something I’m not the most comfortable turning myself into a tester. Edit- also, personally Pea Plant protein really messes my stomach up. I’ve tired so many different kinds and my body won’t digest it properly. So for Abby to be telling people this is best for IBS is interesting since hardly anyone has the exact same IBS triggers.

@@hnaistypingSo do poor diets full of highly processed and addictive food. One is much more common than the other.

I used to watch AS’s videos, but they just got sooooo annoying and less evidence based about 3/4 years ago. Lots of just wrong things too, especially around weight

I have been subscribed and watching Abbey for a long time and for most part enjoy the information she provide. However, after her recent video promoting this product, I unsubscribed from her channel. One of Abbey's biggest attributes was her speaking against other "influencers" trying to sell you on supplements and programs, you don't need. Now, she is doing the same thing. She is trying to make money off of people, who have come to trust her knowledge and expertise. It is very disappointing.

As a german I do not understand the name at all. Why a german word "neue" ( new) and than theory as an English word. And all of that marketed in only English-speaking countries?
