I adore Will. He's funny (yes, tons of sex jokes), a good cook, and gorgeous. His girlfriend is an ex-vegan (I was sad when she gave it up) but she seems so sweet. I LOVE his mom too. I'm not vegan because I eat eggs given from my pet hen. She is so adorable and she follows me around when we do the gardening work. I want to be fully vegan but she lays everyday.
@anthonymarconi761
@anthonymarconi761 3 жыл бұрын
It's quite interesting, philosophically. One could argue you ARE an ethical vegan already. You have a pet hen - most ethical vegans are OK with pets, even if some fringe ones consider that unnatural exploitation or something - your hen lays eggs ANYWAY without need for fecundation etc. Said eggs are not the result of an exploitation. The fact that they are an animal product by nature has no ethical bearings whatsoever in that case, unless you rule that "anything animal is not ethical", which is debatable. Hey, thanks for the brainstorm early morning hahah 🙏🏻
@piau1798
@piau1798 3 жыл бұрын
I’ve heard that you can either crush the eggs and feed them back to hens to help with their nutrients since laying everyday is leaching their body - or you could leave them in the nest to gather, hens seem to like a little cluster of eggs. Of course you’d have to be careful if they rot etc. But almost vegan is absolutely great! Love that you have a hen 😍 they are so cute. If you are further interested in the backyard hen thing, earthing Ed talked about it in a video and one of his podcast episodes:!
@lucya8916

Thanks Anthony and Pia! Really appreciate your thoughts :) We only eat eggs given by her and we always admire them each day (sounds crazy) but we're so proud 😄 And yes, we given her the egg shells back for grit. She goes bananas over them. Also black seeds, pea shoots from the garden, tomatoes, our leftovers. And Earthling Ed! Just discovered him yesterday so I will def check out the vid thanks :) He debates so well.

Eating an egg from your pet hen isnt morally wrong or good, I dont think its a bad thing. Eggs are the only thing that can be morally farmed from animals, but if she is okay then I think it is not bad at all!
@anthonymarconi761
@anthonymarconi761 3 жыл бұрын
@@unoriginal1086 milk and wool can also be morally procured in some cases. Sheeps actually are relieved when you help them with an overgrown coat, and traditional farmers don't chain inseminate their cows for them to be productive. The residual milk after the veal has been fed is plenty, that's how it worked in many cultures back in the days; and still do here and there! In the end it's all about context...

Would LOVE if you could do a video on Spirulina/cyanobacteria and the possible connection to ALS and other neurodegenerative diseases. Commercial spirulina can be contaminated with toxic microcystins and is considered “possibly safe” by the NIH, yet it continues to be peddled as a “superfood” added to smoothie bowls. My grandfather died within 6 months of his ALS diagnosis, it’s no joke. So is it really worth the risk?

I'm so glad fur has gone out of fashion. Like now it's something that stands out and not in a good way. When I was a kid, my grandma's family would have this annual get together and almost all of the women would show up in full length furs and pearls and diamonds...to a birthday party at a cafeteria. It was so hilariously upscale and downscale at the same time. But that's Houston for you. My mom kept going on about how she wanted one, so my dad got her a hideous 80's fur coat/bomber style jacket thing for Christmas and she was allergic to it (of course, super predictable for her). When I found out how many of each type of animal it took to make a full length fur and it made me so sick. No matter how much you love an old lady, it's hard to look at her when you know how many lives she's wearing.

Funny enough l got into leather as a vegan. A good quality Goodyear welted pair of leather shoes will last for years if properly cared for. When the sole wears out it can be replaced. That's far better than a vegan pair that will end up in a landfill in no time. I get my shoes second hand on Ebay and thrift shops. So I am not supporting the leather industry. Leather is a byproduct of the meat industry. So even if I get new leather I am not really contributing to the exploitation of cows. Wool on the other hand is the primary product. So I don't buy new wool. I know that plenty of vegans will want to revoke my vegan card for wearing leather. But I don't see any conflict between second hand leather and my vegan values. I hope for the day that clean leather and clean meat are readily available and we can stop killing cows for their skin and muscle tissue.

I’m obsessed with the peanut butter ones. Literally eat one every day.

I used to love the Lenny & Larry cookies, especially the peanut butter and snickerdoodle flavors. I had them a lot during college so I burnt out on them. Now I want to try those ones you suggested!

The swallowing khichuri (this is the correct spelling phonetically) part wasn't really a joke. They can be very easy to swallow based on how you cook it, and where I'm from this is used for children aged 6 months to get used to eating actual food. I grew up eating the easy-to-swallow khichuri too. Now when I cook khichuri I cook the "vuna khichuri" which is much drier and grainier also you can incorporate vegetables and meat in it.

I went vegan cold turkey but at first it wasn't for the environment or the animals. I had severe health issues and at the time I had tried everything. Nothing worked. So in my desperation I went fully vegan and: I got better. Now I am not only doing it for my health but also for the environment etc. I think because of the issues I had that I wanted to fix it was easier to go from a carnivore diet to vegan right away

@@unbound_adventure severe ibs symptoms. No day went by that I wasn't in pain. I tried everything: LOWFODMAP, glutenfree, stress reduction, yoga, exclusion diets etc and of course several doctors appointments. Vegan finally helped. I am not pain free but it is bearable.

Will is pretty great. Dark humor and innuendo on his channel, but he is very serious about the information he puts out. His girlfriend is vegan so he's aware of things.

I really enjoy watching Megan Bowen on youtube. She does bodybuilding (or I think is more Bikini Contests) competitions and she is vegan. She even made a cookbook! Sadly, she had to stop eating plant-based because of health issues. I would love your reaction to her vegan/food videos.

Portion sizes are out of control lately! I made a stew today and they said 4 servings in the recipe. I'm eating it by myself, so I figured sure, 4 servings is a good yield for leftovers. I don't know how much stew these people are eating, but I have probably 7 days worth of soup now! 😑 I would have scaled back the recipe a lot.

Honestly if we can all be more aware, of whats in our food. I’m not fully plant based but I at least try to avoid animal products when I can.
