Yep, this isn't the realm of thrifty buffet investing, but the business model is different and has proven its worth. Open your eyes wider.

Out of curiosity, do you think NIO houses can work in the US? I've heard arguments that NIO won't do as well in the US because nobody will want to go to the NIO houses, but I personally think that Americans would like going to these (I have a thesis that I won't bore you with on a KZbin comment). Just wanted to see what your take is. Thanks in advance!

I think that convincing americans to buy a 60k Chinese car will be a bigger battle than convincing them to sit and have a free coffee and hang out with friends. I believe that if NIO manages to sell a decent number of cars in say, SF or LA for example, than the NIO House concept will work, I'm not convinced yet that they can genuinely succeed at selling cars in America though. It will be an uphill challenge.
