What are the dimensions? I want to replace the controls on an old Taito arcade cabinet and can't find a diagram anywhere. I'm hoping to get the lower box to drop in the unit and anchor it from there, but there looks to be a large lip on the back side of the controller I'd need to account for.

Can't wait till September. For my resistant materials project in school (I'm 15 and it was for my GCSEs (an English thing)) I built an arcade machine but unlike the few others in my class who made one I spent loads of time and effort on mine and unlike them mine has controls, a screen and actually works... It also looks awesome though it's about 1/3 the size of an actual arcade machine and can store stuff in the bottom half where the coin slots are (they act as a moneybox). In September I can finally bring it back home (it's just been graded and they let you receive stuff around that time) but the one thing I hate is the screen. I got a cheap rubbish one as you don't need much for retro stuff but the pixels are stretched and it just looks awful ;(
@zamblot33246 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the heart :) I forgot to add that I managed to get it up and running thanks to your tutorials :)
@jaz80886 жыл бұрын
Is it the Cheap screen, or should you be changing the Resolution to 4:3 then add a Border aka Bezel to fill the black bars, if your system is RetroArch based, its easy peasy, for a 15yr old, damn im about to be 51 soon, oh those school yard days, filled with girls :)
@jaz80886 жыл бұрын
(an English thing) = arcade, what has the school system become.!
@zamblot33246 жыл бұрын
Jaz808 nah that's not what I meant. I meant for Americans that didn't know what GCSEs were. Our goal was to build something and we could go off different tasks. I chose the task to make a storage unit based off an era and I did the 80/90s and retro and I made my storage unit double up as arcade machine. I didn't get any extra marks for creativity or anything, I just did it for personal gain. And tbh the education system is way to stressful... I wish it was about simpler tasks as rm was my easiest GCSE
@zamblot33246 жыл бұрын
Jaz808 the screen is super finicky... If I try to change anything it bugs out and it auto turns off. It's a faulty old panel so I think it's the screen (I couldnt get it changed in the settings of the screen though I might be able to in the settings of retropie). (Oh and I'm covering what black bars there are with a bezel at the moment

Was just wondering if can make menu as a on off switch?

I got the four player xtension stick and it's not working. I configured it like in the video but there's no coin button for fbalpha and I can't configure individual any cores. When I go into the retropie menu, it seems this stick doesn't have all the keys retropie expects. Any ideas?

I am considering the 4-player controller with a RP in the RRM 32 Pro Emulator Edition Cabinet. Have you solved your problems? My RP has some arcade stuff in MAME 2001, 2003, and 2010, as well as FBA. I'm wondering how mapping and getting everything saved is the first time through. Players 1 and 2 look like they have enough buttons to cover joysticks and Start, Select, B, A, Y, X, and L and R shoulder buttons, while Players 3 and 4 look to have only the joystick and Start, Select, B, A, Y, X. For Players 3 and 4 following ETA's method of input configuration, can't you just let the buttons you don't have time out (something like 4 seconds in his video in Retroarch menu)? ETA, any ideas? Thanks in advance for any helpful replies, and keep up the great videos!
@jmotley16 жыл бұрын
Scott Blanchard yes, I was able to get it to work with fba. I got it to work with everything except the Dreamcast emulator. I manually edited the config files but you can also do it using the Retropie in game menu. You just have to make sure you map that button.
@scottblanchard75426 жыл бұрын
Okay, thanks! This makes me feel better about purchasing. I definitely didn't want to get the thing paid for, wait for shipping, then not be able to even play the games as intended. It seems easy enough via ETA's mapping as per this video. Have you had any other issues configuring the RRM 4-player controller? Can you get it to work with other emulators like NES, Genesis, etc.? I probably won't be playing those much with an arcade stick, but I'd like to know I could if I wanted.

so i did this exactly as you've done and it works great for all my arcade (MAME and FBA), NES, SNES, and PCE-CD games. emulators like PicoDrive, and the TG-16 and PCE still read the controller as a keyboard. can i go into each one of those individual emulator retroarch menus and do the same as here and save configuration, but not mess up my other mapping that works in the arcade, etc.? i find it strange that one mapping doesn't work for all the other emulators, as it does when i mapped my retropad (usb iBuffalo SNES pad). this has been a bit frustrating, does anyone know a solution?
@scottblanchard75426 жыл бұрын
okay, so i found a way around this (plug in mapped usb SNES controller and open menu, then plug in the Xtension controller and go to Input player 1 Binds and can now map the controls exactly how i want in other cores (consoles) done the same as in this video (and also configured the important input hotkey binds), but for some reason it will not save them when i go to "save current configuration". i get a "failed to save..." message in the bottom left corner. very frustrating. i cannot find a solution on the github forums, reddit, or anywhere else. any ideas how to fix this save error? running a Raspberry Pi 3 B+and most current versions of everything.

Besides the Sega Genesis & Mega Drive Collection on Steam, I know that Blizzard Entertainment made some of their old games including a few ROMs free to download including: Starcraft & Starcraft: Brood War (PC, but an updated remastered is $15), Blackthorne (PC), The Lost Vikings (MS-DOS and it comes with the DOSbox emulator), and Rock N' Roll Racing (a demo version as an SNES ROM and it comes with the ZSNES emulator). Well, that isn't much. I wonder if Atari has added raw ROMs of Atari 2600 games on their Atari collections.
