I stumbled upon your videos on KZbin about two weeks ago, and I've been absolutely hooked ever since. It's astonishing to me that I hadn't discovered you earlier, but I'm so glad I did. The knowledge and insights you provide, especially on investing, have been life-changing for me. I've always been hesitant and fearful about investing, but after watching your videos, I feel empowered and confident to take that step. I'm even planning to invest through Vanguard soon! Thank you for generously sharing all this valuable information for free. Your dedication to educating others is truly commendable. May God bless you both abundantly for your generosity and kindness. Oh, and I already have your book and I'm diving into it as we speak. Thank you once again for everything. Warm regards," Nana

Your views to subscribers ratio is the best I’ve ever seen Ken. Absolutely outstanding
@TheHumblePenny4 жыл бұрын
Hey Perry, really appreciate your message 😀. Interesting metric! Tbh I've never thought about checking something like that (across the channel). Unless you mean for this specific video? Makes me wonder what it's like for other channels 🤔. Is this something you worked out simply by looking at the regular video views stats vs Subs? Or did you use a tool?
@perrywilson71964 жыл бұрын
@@TheHumblePenny Hi Ken, I don’t have many subs (1700), but I get around 1000 views and again ‘around’ 50 comments, and wanted to compare that with other larger sites engagement with their audience. I just used the human eye but some sites with 50,000 subs may only get 3000 views and 30 comments, so I was chuffed. I then checked yours and yours are epic compared to anyone else I’d seen. This could be the quality of the message or the sincerity of the messages, but could equally be the quality of the subs. In terms of monetisation, I’m guessing that an advertiser is paying for eyes on their message, so will prefer views as opposed to subs? Either way you’re doing very well. You’ll have to give me some of your secret sauce 😀
@TheHumblePenny4 жыл бұрын
Haha interesting 😀. I guess because I haven't taken a close look at other channels that way, I haven't quite seen it like you have. I also didn't know you had a channel. Welldone for getting going :). 1700 subs is no small achievement! More than happy to talk about KZbin :). Great work again Ken! Having read around my take away is that index funds are more resilient but less liquid but I’m still trying to understand why that’s so significant. If there’s an index fund and ETF both tracking the FTSE, why would anyone go with the ETF over the index or vice-versa assuming a long-term (10 year plus) horizon? I feel that there’s something important for me to understand in this distinction but can’t quite grab what it is. Any clarity would be appreciated

Hi Ken, thank you for posting this video. It has clarified a lot of complicated jargon! Whilst I understand the difference between index funds and ETFs, I'm not sure I understand what the 'point' of ETFs is? If they're similar but ETFs incur higher fees, why not just invest in index funds?
@jonathanhollick69472 жыл бұрын
They don't necessarily have higher fees. It depends on the platform you use. From my experience personally band professionally in the UK is that investment platforms will charge similar fees when buying into index funds or ETFs. Presently I have some in an S&P ETF and index fund. Both have annual fees of 0.06% but I had to pay a dealing fee to buy into both

Awesome video, this has become my favourite KZbin page, question - where can you read in the paper work if the index own the funds they are trying to replicate? I have had a look at the documentation and could not figure this out, please help. Thanks in advance
@ryanmason48273 жыл бұрын
A bit confused.. why are they 'tracking the index' as apposed to just investing in the actual fund? E.g. if the s&p goes up like a stock your fund increases in value and vice versa if it decreases? If I buy a stock in Tesla it isn't 'tracked' against Tesla I would just own a small share in Tesla. So why are indexes tracked? Hope that makes sense! 😂
@TheHumblePenny3 жыл бұрын
Hey Ryan, the index is a list that is created by a committee of experts. The index fund tracks it (i.e. mimics the composition) BUT does so by buying the actual physical holdings in the companies.
