@reneerichardsonbooks10 ай бұрын
Hi! I would say I agree but I don’t think religion as a whole is evil. I think when people allow their religion to govern their humanity and when religion is used as a tool for control and ego, it is the root of evil. I do think a lot of evangelists are evil, though. My husband’s side of the family has gone down that route and it is awful to see. You really do morph into a whole other person when toxic religion takes over.

Congrats mama!! You’re in the home stretch, soon you’ll have a little baby and you won’t even remember how miserable you’re feeling now. No, seriously. Fun fact about women: all the pain and discomfort of pregnancy, labor & delivery is the kind of thing that the human brain would normally store as a long-term memory, perhaps even trauma - BUT the magical female brain actually stores all that junk in our short-term memory. So we forget the bulk of it, and by the time we’re fertile and ready to potentially try for another baby, we can’t remember all the sucky parts that might’ve scared us away from ever doing it again if we remembered everything clear as day. We remember in theory, we remember vaguely, but really trying to remember and re-live the pain is like trying to remember what we had for breakfast exactly 4.5 years ago. It’s gotta be a cool evolutionary thing, otherwise no woman would ever go through it twice, you know? So yeah, when I say you’ll forget all the pain, I actually mean it!

I have a feeling JLP blames women that are survivors of domestic abuse for their male partners abusing them, also probably blames women that are rape survivors of being the ones responsible for a male rapping them. As a survivor this is sickening. As a mental health field professional, I can definitely psychoanalyze his beliefs about women and making broad generalizations that all mothers are evil probably based on his own childhood experiences. He also probably has a cluster B personality disorder and extremely egocentric unable to see past his own experiences which causes him to make broad and very dangerous generalizations.
@ergot180310 ай бұрын
Really, cluster B? With the evidence being from this one public interview? How about the alternative hypothesis that he's a relatively self-aware political entertainer who plays both into being a comedian and a right-wing propagandist?
@ergot180310 ай бұрын
Also, there's some irony in a self-described "mental health field professional" throwing around "cluster B" diagnoses presumably based on a single public interview when they most likely don't even have the qualifications to officially make that diagnosis about anyone, while at the same time complaining about the "patient" making "broad and very dangerous generalizations" because he "can't see past his own experiences".
@nostradamus133110 ай бұрын
Jesse never inferred any of those things. As he said all thoughts are all lies all the time, your feelings are not you. Keep in mind that the dudes organization bond has dealt with predominantly black men , who come from single mother households statistically, a lot of these men go their whole life hating their fathers for not being in their lives, and a lot of the time the fathers can't be involved in their children's lives even if they wanted to be because of the stacked court systems we currently have, and many times these same mothers turn their children away from their earthly fathers. There are very few factors as important as having a stable two parent household to grow up in , and many mothers selfishly have denied their children this opportunity in life. His advice is actually quite sound, don't resent your mother for the damage that has already been done, forgive her , and also forgive your father and move on with your life. By returning to their earthly fathers they can then work on their relationship with their heavenly father.

My parents separated because my father had an affair with his coworker who he eventually married and had children with. Never once did my mother talk poorly of my father or turn us away from him. she wanted us to have a close relationship with him, regardless of her personal feelings (which she kept to herself). The father left because he wanted to . He wanted to start a new family with this woman (who was happy being a secret for years) and have three children with her. And he treated those three children much better than he did the three children he had with his prior wife. I don’t have anything to forgive my mother for because she never imposed her will on me, or tried to turn me against my father . Quite the opposite. She always told us he would be there for us when we really needed him and that he was a good father. And she believed that. But then she passed away unexpectedly . It came as a complete shock to all three of her children that the man she thought he was, did not exist. he was not there for his children from the first marriage. in fact, all three of those children are completely estranged from him as a result of the events that transpired after her death. We don’t even refer to him as a father, We call him by his first name if he comes up in conversation. And I know if she were alive today she would be shocked to see the current state of things. After her death, we were able to read some important paperwork like their divorce settlement, some of the tactics he and his lawyer used, just vile disgusting stuff. She never once mentioned any of it or even complained to us. If you asked him why his children don’t talk to him he will tell you it’s his ex-wife that poisoned our minds, talking poorly of him our whole lives when it couldn’t be further from the truth. I’ve had literal arguments with her about him…how can she not see that he treats the half siblings much better, why isn’t she mad he did XYZ etc. She always defended him and sometimes it infuriated me. The older I got the more I chalked it up to her growing up in a happy united family and not being able to relate. Women are not always the enemy, and they are not always trying to turn their children against their father . If a woman really loves their children, she wants them to love their father as much as they love their mother, Regardless of whether they are still in a relationship. Good women do exist. And disappointing fathers who do not keep their word or say what they mean also exist. Even worse, there are fathers out there who have children by different mothers, and treat the children differently depending on the mother. It’s great if you were on the winning end, but if you are on the losing end it’s a pain I wouldn’t wish on anyone.
