BB22 really shouldn't exist. I want to give Cody credit for his win, but the more I look at that season the more I feel his win was handed to him partially due to being a white man in a season where the POC were treated badly and where Ian was the victim of ableism. The silver lining to this is that it allowed the community to unite when it came to how badly the POC players were treated, as well as inspiring the cookout to be formed the following season! It also doesn't help that Cody and Derrick have only showed themselves to be pretty terrible people, to the point that they will platform the cookout on their shows, but will also claim that Kyle in BB24 did little wrong, that his behavior was blown out of proportion, and that Michael and Brit were the true bad guys in that whole debacle. Say what you will about Mike and Brit, but they at least both owned up to what they did wrong after the show, and they both apologized to Taylor for things they did and said during the season. Kyle by contrast hasn't earned that benefit of the doubt yet!

It's mostly just because Dan's playstyle is far, far more fun to watch. Hell, seeing Dan's Funeral as it aired as the first episode I ever sat down to watch was what got me into big brother in the first place. We tend to root for the people to win that we most enjoy watching, and Dan definitely made the show way more exciting than it would've been if he hadn't been on the season. That said, it's understandable that Ian won due to jury management, but it's a rough situation when the "better play" undercuts the point of the show-- which is to be entertaining and exciting to the people who watch it rather than a "get along with everyone, make moves behind the scenes" playstyle.

Ehhhh, that's not entirely true. Ian didn't take Dan to the final two because he knew "most of the jury wouldn't vote for him." He locked in a final 2 with Dan just like he had an alliance with the Quack Pack and an unsaid alliance with Mike and Frank because of how this game started out. I remember, specifically, when Ian had HOH when there were I believe 6 players left and Ian was considering whether or not to put Dan up for elimination. He mentions the final 2 deal but also says he didn't want to piss off the rest of the house. I think his final 2 deal with Dan was just as temporary as any other alliance in this game. What really made him choose to keep Dan, and what was repeated by Ian in the finale, is Ian thought Danielle would win because of the friends she had on the Jury. THAT ASSESSMENT is correct. Dan did get a couple votes in the end, but Danielle definitely could have swayed more than a couple votes.

Janelle has admitted that she regrets saying Ian didn't deserve to win and apologized to him. Till this day, Ian deserved his win and YES Dan DOMINATED the fucking game from the minute he pushed that button to return. You said it BEST, Dan DESERVED to win however NO jury will vote for a returning winner unless the player they sit next to didnt do much. Derek F sitting next to Dan would've made sense to vote for Dan. Now compare that with someone like Steve next to Dan. Compare the notes and you can see why the Jury REALLY had to talk about why one or the other deserve to win. I'm sure the Jury didn't have an easy discussion that season

Seeing Dan in a clip here, gives me a weird feeling. I just ended watching The Traitors US Season 2 where he was a Traitor and was thinking to myself what was his play in Big Brother cuz I know he won there. And now seing him was awesome. Can't wait to see him in thew house even as a couch. Quick edit, I saw him play and it was ruthless . BTW Those kind of content that you are making are legit the vibe! The fight between Ian and Frank was my favorite that season other than the one between Britney and Frank in jury. The ones with willie I didn’t feel were important enough. It was definitely a devastating blow for Ian the week Britney got backdoored.

In the first few weeks the coaches each had three lives with their three players even so Dan nearly managed to get knocked out. Ian's game may have had flaws but Dan's had a huge production made shield and he still nearly blew it, yeah as impressive a player as Dan can be including at times in this season Ian earned this win.
@jackmcg0 Жыл бұрын
So Dan had no safety since the first week. He could’ve been eliminated before the twist, and still managed to make it far. Production also messed with his game by leading Ian with asking “how would using the veto on Dan benefit you?”

i’d have to agree, but dan is just a little bit more impressive to me due to his ability to manipulate the whole house. every single person got played by him. even more impressive that he was a previous winner and made it to final 2. the only way i can discount his game is that he had a few free weeks while being a coach.

Dan is absolutely the best player. The fact that 2 people that made it to final 4 couldn’t see that there’s only 1 reason he’d want to be taken off to be the sole vote was wild! You have nothing to do but think it out! Ian was oblivious at times, something I didn’t realize watching it live. Dam tried blindsiding Ian and Shane! Daniel literally heard him say, next time I’m handing you the knife! And she still didn’t see it coming!!! Like whaaaaaattttt!!!

So something I just thought about revisiting this video is that Ian actually had an interesting commonality with Michael from BB24. Both of them made the mistake of trying to take out lesser threats out of belief that their “allies” had their back. The truth is Ian made a mistake putting Jenn on the block because Ian needed to break up the Quack Pack, especially if he wanted the best chance of making it to the end. Jenn was likely to side with Ian as the biggest outsider left so it only made sense for him to avoid putting Jenn on the block. Yeah in theory that plan falls flat if the veto is used by anyone other than her but it still gave Ian more to gain than simply assuming the entire remaining Quack Pack had his back! Michael by contrast figured keeping his biggest allies safe at the final 7 made the most sense, but the truth was he should have tried to make the biggest move knowing he was gonna be targeted no matter what! I get why both of these players made their moves but in both cases it was a clear example of how one’s threat level and failure to properly manage and evaluate it can be your downfall!
