Etho Minecraft PVP - Calamity #1: Introduction

Welcome to Calamity, a custom Minecraft map made by Moesh. Players gather resources in the world and through renewable resource pads. The goal is to reach the enemy's bastion and press the button to start their experimental machine. The game is played in adventure mode so proper tools are need to mine the blocks.

I love how Etho pulls a kill, steals an iron sword, an infinity bow, and some armor from the corpse of his opponent, and then shreds the enemy team for the rest of the game. XD

It was kind of always that way but nobody on the server really talked about it, at least I don’t remember them doing so. If you watch enough of these mini games it becomes pretty apparent especially the lens battle episode (my personal favorite)

Well nowadays he still is 4 years in the future. It’s just that Minecraft’s combat has changed quite a bit over time, relying on gimmicks like rockets in crossbows.

He is a strategic player, and he had the edge on everyone in this session. Pause is the scariest guy to fight, he just had no one directing his swings. Methinks they should have played a couple rounds before recording. But there probably wasn't time to catch everyone up.

I hate those team-picking-by-captains scenarios too. Feels crappy to be picked last. :( Idea for the future: if it has to be done by "captains pick", it would be better to have the picking be done by the captains in private, then just tell everyone at the same time what team they're on. That would largely get you away from triggering all those depressing childhood memories for your players.

Hey Etho! Since you might not know, when you in PvP fights, and you're in close combat, right and left click at the same time! This blocks their attacks as well as hitting and also, it doesn't slow you down much so you can still get a lot of hits in. :)

He only said he would not lead. BTC and the others decided to go defense and repel Combine instead of charging. All other tactics Etho used are general PvP tactics, so he did not exploit prior knowledge. Any archer would have known to use a high perch like that, and Combine archers would have done the same thing if they could have, but they kept being repelled. BTC and Anderz favored melee, so they stayed low. They're all experienced PvPers, so whatever advantage Etho had was slim.
