Etho, There's a mod launcher, called ATLauncher, in which everyone can publish his own modpack. You don't have to pay for it and if a mod has copywright on it, the installer brings you to the mod folder and opens the browser on the download page. If you publish it, you'll get a code and publish it so everyone can download it.

I don't think mods can be copyrighted- if Mojang happened to make a feature similar to the mod the mod author could sue Mojang (which is why some authors don't like fanfiction). Etho, I am a huge fan, and I love your vids. However, there is one thing I would like to see. A lot of times you skip nearly all of the building, which is great, but when u build something like a randomizer I get a little confused on how it works. I know that u have shown it all in previous vids, but there are a lot of new people now who didn't see those vids, and it would be great if you could do a little more technical explanation so we understand how it works. the problem whit that is that there will always be new subscribers, he could explain everything but many people that already know or that don´t care would get mad (not that is okey). Also he makes redstone contraptions all the time and would be pretty hard to keep track of every one of his methods. Etho, I have an idea. So, what you should do is each season, have a certain goal for the series. Each season is a certain amount of episodes (you can decide that). By the end of a season, you try to have accomplished that goal. I think that would be a cool idea but its up to you.

If you go to the curse forge thing and look up etho then its rhe 1.12 1 that i’m using but theres a 1.7 i think if u rly eant to plsy that but its not a big difference

You can release the custom BoP if you get permission from the original mod maker. Either that or you can create a patch file to be applied, which means you never distribute the modified file itself. Glitchfiend is typically a nice person, and if glitch won't let you distribute it, maybe he'll be kind and host it for you. I'd say the patch file is the easiest way to go, and it makes the changes optional. Also, Minecraft has had a memory leak since beta, when you leave minecraft completely idle in a menu screen (multiplayer or main menu) it starts to use more and more cpu and memory.

If you release a mod which actually somebody else has most of the work done and you only make a minor change its respectless to redistribute it as your own. As it sadly more then often happens. Thats where the quarrels in modmaker "communities" often come from. Etho respects the work of the modmaker and I am pretty sure if he asks for permission to release the mod with his change he would get it.

callowaymotorcompany Because mod makers can copyright their own code, distributing that code when they tell you not to is illegal. You can be fined, you can have whatever you're distributing it with have a DMCA take-down (like what happened with Bukkit), etc. You can however ask for specific distributors licence from the copyright holder. Also, a patch file, is a file that compares two files, finds the difference between them, and then recorded those differences. You need to get the original file, then apply the patch file and it will change the bytes and make a working modified version, you never distribute any of the copyrighted code.

Awesome new series, I hope the modpack doesn't have too many glitches. Mystcraft is an awesome way to get around all your dimensions and a quick way to jump Long Distances without the calculations required for nether portals and the hassle of setting them up in exactly the right place. It does require a lot of through labelling though if you make a 'hub' so you know where you are going. You also get some truly awesome unique 'dimensions' to explore with all sorts of resources. I don't know much about Railcraft so sure that would probable be an awesome way to get around too, just might take a long time to go the really long distances.
