Nice job, just ordered a hitch & wiring for my 2021 crosstrek, I will run my wires thru a grommet witch will require cutting & soldering the wires to the trailer.

Thank you for the feedback! soldering is not a bad way to go, heat shrink butt connectors are just much easier for most people to use in an install. www.etrailer.com/Custom-Fit-Vehicle-Wiring/Curt/C56040.html

I installed this kit today and when I hooked it up to a trailer to test I had trailer lights but no blinkers… Would you have any insight as to why?

On your 4 pole trailer connector, use a circuit tester on the pins that are fed by the yellow and green wires. Does the tester flash with the turn signals activated? If they don't, the converter box is faulty and the harness should be replaced. If they do, the problem is in the trailer wiring. Why would you want your wires under the hatch. Cant you fish them through a hole on underside?

Storing the trailer connector in the cargo area of the vehicle helps protect it from moisture and damage. Running the wire out the hatch won't damage it in the least, as long as you avoid the latch. You can run the trailer harness out a grommet in the floor of the cargo area if you wish, but it will be exposed to the elements. www.etrailer.com/Custom-Fit-Vehicle-Wiring/CURT/C56040.html
