I just installed this on my 2015 Kia Sportage today and when I tested the voltage with the car off it’s drawing about a half volt at each of the poles on the 4 pole connector. My fear is I would have to unplug my trailer every time I parked somewhere otherwise it would slowly drain my battery. Is there something I can do to remedy this?

We have never had any issues with a trailer draining a battery unless there is something wrong with the wiring on the trailer. You could eliminate all chances of it draining your battery by simply unplugging the trailer connector. www.etrailer.com/Custom-Fit-Vehicle-Wiring/Curt/C56251.html
