ETS 2 Comprehensive Controller settings

Using the "wheel" controller subtype and steam controller configuration settings, you can pretty much play ETS 2 with a controller flawlessly.
In Part - II, I'll go through how you can modify the steam settings to be able to bind almost everything you need from the game and more, to the controller itself and also not have to slow down to a stand still to make tight turns.
In order to use my settings, you need to 1st of all reset the keys to default and click on the link below for the controller settings via steam.

Sorry guys, this video may be outdated now. Steam has updated the UI and it looks very different to how it was before, so you may not understand how to do these steps in current version. I'm using a g29 now, so it's unlikely I'll post an update to this. But if you can figure out the UI, these steps are still valid for the controller :)

What advantage does the g29 offer over a controller? Do you have more accurate steering that way? In the video, gas, brake and steering are operated by the controller is that correct? Thanks

@@CreRay have you ever driven a car before cause you literally answered your own question, a wheel will always give you a more precise and granular control of the steering vs a joystick

No mods, high graphics settings I believe. But recently I'm struggling to get good fps myself xD

My steering remains pretty stiff; it rotates in segments instead of a proper wheel like it did before using these settings. Am I supposed to change the sensivity in-game? You never mentioned that.

@@katzarkul Bro, I don't understand what you mean by that. But for me, the steering axis the Left Stick X-axis. Also, if you don't make changes in the steam controller settings like I showed, your steering with twitchy af (uncontrollable). So, you can't skip steam settings for this to work

you need to assign the RT as accelerate in the in-game menu. Go to option>controls>assign RT as accelerate axis or whatever it is.

do you still reply the comment? i have the problem when i look around with my right joystick, sometimes it'll go up, so i used to roll my left joystick for smoother steering, i think it's binded to the left joystick, the other problem is i use $13 controller :( maybe anyone know how to fix it

It's impossible to guess the issue. The only thing I can say is go through the controls again and make sure nothing is what it shouldn't be.

its not picking up my controller at all everything just says jow missing it wokrs for ATS but ETS dosent pick it up ever since that new update

Try this. Open steam big picture mode > library > select ETS > manage game (left side 2nd option) > controller options > select "Forced on". The game should recognize your controller after this.

Just copy n paste the link (in description) in your browser. If you have steam app open, it'll load the settings in the app and you have to accept the settings to use them.

@@Adycter since it's Logitech and not xbox one controller. Maybe the game is reading the inputs wrongly. Switch back to default steam settings. And try out the steer settings in the game yourself.
