Can I use a PLC Siemena S7-1200 to Control de VFD via embedded Ethernet Port? I saw a video where it shows that the use of an external module VW3A3720 is mandatory. Why? Thank you.

I have a problem connecting the PLC and altivar 630. The connection is there, but I can't run and monitor the Frequency changer parameters through the PLC.. can u help?

How much faster would you say this is over the Schneider RS458 to USB cable? I'm noticing the USB method to be atrociously slow.

Hi Preston, I have found there to be a slight improvement in communication speed when communicating via Ethernet TCP, however, I believe the limiting factor is the refresh/scan rate of SoMove which cannot be adjusted. But Ethernet TCP is better for other reasons such as the obvious - no more usb to serial adaptor cable, also if you don't have SoMove on your PC you can access the VSD web server to change parameters and extract the configuration.
