In this video we discuss the factors you need to know to know whether or not a battle will turn out in your favor, or why you're losing to an army that is smaller, for example. Morale, Discipline, Tactics, and Pips get a workover before we beat on some rebels to drive home the point.

Combat Width of 25 means 50 regiments can fight at any given time since its two rows.

And cav fight on the front row not the back. Max combat width is actually 40 not 25, but I think it was displayed badly before, I don't think it told you that anywhere in UI, I think what that screen is saying is plus 25 added onto your base combat width which totals 40. Now you can look on the military page and it displays you're actual current combat width.

Tantaria Stavangar Infantry and cavalry can only attack from the front line. Artillery is the only unit able to attack from the back line.

In theory yes, but terrain gives combat width penalties most of the time

Terrain no longer gives combat width penalties, all terrain has the same combat width now, it just gives negative 1 or negative 2 dice roll penalties depending on its type. At the time you wrote the comment it was possible it still worked that way, I know they changed it awhile back. Also unlike what he said in the video, leader manoeuvre can only negate crossing penalties such as from a river or strait, not terrain penalties, and only if your general has a higher manoeuvre than theirs. So basically there's no reason not to always use your full combat width whenever possible as you no longer need to account for each province's terrain affecting combat width.

Good vid, I learned a lot but I gotta ask how did you get so many godtier generals? Most of my general rolls give me one maneuver and nothing else.

The maneuver pips of a general increase the rate of reinforcement, +10% per pip.

That was a change made rather recently, much after he made this video. Also leader manoeuvre affects the base travel time it takes to move armies from province to province, and unlike what he said in the video, can NOT negate terrain penalties, ONLY crossing penalties such as a river or strait. Like you pointed out though, increased rate of reinforcement for leader manoeuvre in addition to its other bonuses has made it quite an attractive statistic to have. albeit not quite as good as shock early game or fire/siege late game.

This could use an update without all the "umm" and correcting the mistakes, like for example thinking that only the attacker takes the combat width penalty (obviously, the actual "problem" was that while you had about the same amount of troops, the enemy had more regiments but with less men in each after losses, there was A LOT of unused combat width on both sides). Also spent a bunch of time on the fact that "you want your modifiers to be better than the enemy modifiers", which is so obvious that it's kinda ridiculous to bring it up. Based on your recent videos, I'm sure you understand it a lot better now.

10 sided die have the numbers 0-9 on them, so you can roll a zero. Don't do it in D&D :).
