You will get there. I found this game in lets plays and you will slowly learn. At the Start you will be clumsy and wonder why you allways ruin it at the end, but after time you see and you learn. Watching all the diplo actions around you and make wars in your head. Learn Trade, development and combat. They all have their own difficulties. Also you will be sometimes confused with the different religions, cultures and mostly countries you can play with. Many are very different. First mechanic that will kill you is allways agressiv expansion. If you fight wars and take allways too many land, you will get coalitions and die very quick. For starters, the european nations are beginner "friendly", because you are superior to african, asian and american nations. Its not easy, because all countries in europe are often wealty and strong. I wouldnt recommend playing in the Holy Roman Empire, because of the Aggressiv Expansion you will get fucked pretty early. Austria is one of the strongest countries for experienced players for World Conquest, but hard for starters. Good starts would be England with this guide. You can play very chilly on your island and learn colonising, most countries cant kill you with your fleet beeing too strong. France can become strong very early, after annexing your vassals and your techs for your army, you have all the power to crush england and castille easily if you play clever. Portugal is very good for playing just colonising and get strong. Be friendly with castille will let you life very peaceful, only danger is marocco. Ottomans are the only i would say they are fucking strong, but only if you know all their mechanics. They can CRUSH anything and have the fastest World conquests, because you can expand in any direction without much problem. Only big problems are poland, austria on the west and the mameluks. If they get beaten by your million ottobros, the worlds will be your oyster and all the people in africa and asian have to learn turkish.

@@nikolah.8472 dude this game isn’t hard at all… it’s actually simple and I’m not a rocket scientist. You could literally do nothing and progress through the game if you just sit there and develop your states. Diplomacy all you do is click 1 button. Trade you don’t even need to understand.. just open up trade map and conquer those places with the highest node in your area. Make light ships and click “protect trade”. War is simple. Have more troops than the enemy and if not call your allies who do.. EU4 is simple really. HOI4 on the other hand, took me like 50 hours to start understanding wtf was going on, still not 100% in that game after 100+.

I always find it funny that in most guides, it's just the fact of pointing out menus that some never knew existed in the first place makes some processes way easier and more convenient. One HUGE tip I never knew about until recently, is that you don't have to wait for a month to pass for diplomacy modifiers to take effect. All you have to do is mouse over the relationship value on their diplomatic screen, then the modifiers will appear and will update your relationship value. This tip is huge when time is essential, like securing an alliance right away rather than having to wait.

Another thing I felt it's very hard to explain to beginners, particularly Age of Empires fans, is how regiment reinforcements work. Manpower + regiments reinforcement was the most alien thing I've seen in a strategic game and it caused me huge confusion until I could understand what was happening. I do recommend these to be explained in detail to any new rulers out there tackling EU4 for the first time.

with only 4k -5k hours this video good to help you get started as a beginner and experience the game without getting overwhelmed. Save to say you probably want to expand your knowledge if the game is for you watching dedicated video's. Like trade ships are MASSIVE for trade income, trade buildings however are in single player kinda useless. If you control 100% of the pie, it really doesn't matter if thats 100 or 9000 trade power, rather the trade value is what you want. If you play as England/GB don't pick trade ideas take maritime instead and build a light ship fleet as it is the better trade idea for England. Like I see soo many KZbinrs do this wrong its painfull.
@lookasetbellaАй бұрын
Thanks! However, I have to VERY strongly disagree with you about trading. Ships are strong, but only from the mid-game, when you have the appropriate bonuses and quantity. Saying that buildings are usless, especially in early when you NEVER control 100% of the trade, is a very big mistake. Buildings are the fastest and cheapest way to start to increase your share of trade. Markantelism can help too. Moreover, it is better to send ships to places where you cannot build buildings, especially at the start. Buildings for trade are useless when it comes to conquering the world. But also at some point, then you can delete them and put something in their place.
@Feanor95Ай бұрын
Yup, you need to send ships to colonial regions to steal wealth from around the world + you need merchants to steer it to english channel. Maritime + trade. You will have 10x more gold than you can use so its useless, but funny :P

19:00 can you explain why you goes with just 4 units of cavalry, besides money reason
@lookasetbella8 ай бұрын
Usually that's the only reason :P It all depends on several factors. Technology group. In this case, the western one. This affects the number of pips in units. Then the next thing is the cav to infantry ratio, usually 50%. However, the infantry suffers a lot of losses, which is why it is often 10% realistically in the army. That is, from 2 to 4 units. THAT there would simply never be more cavalry than infantry. An even number, because the cavalry is placed on the flanks and then inflicts greater damage on the enemy.

@ I’m sorry for being rude, I wanted to delete the comment but left it hoping it’d go under the radar. Still, I keep wishing there were more in depth tutorials on mechanics for the current state of the game, it seems almost impenetrable. I think your guide has useful tips, perhaps it’d be better to cross-reference as you play. It’s very dense!

9:11 "Now a military advisor; no cheaper option here." It looks like Lawrence Clive is much cheaper than the others? (third one)

No, by cheaper I didn't mean that it's tier 1 vs. tier 2. But that it has a 50% cost reduction. In that case, this guy should cost 0.45 not 0.90
