Finger-dinger, bought one, yes it works kind of, it's loud, it gets attention. It also comes across as intrusive and rude. People don't like getting honked at, it kind of screams get out of my way. Back to slowing to the same pace as them and saying accuse me, or just hello. Thanks for the reference - electronic nerd at heart :-)

Haha. Love the show Jon. It’s brilliant I really like that you show all sides of Euc life, the good, the bad, the brilliant and the tragic. I’d love to be the first Aussie Search and Rescue Euc rider. Wicked Bags not riding around with a pickaxe strapped to my butt though. 🤣🤙

Might want to brush up on your mountain climbing before making snarky comments. They are tethered to simulate the conditions of traveling on a glacier. They are spread out in case one falls into a crevasse the others will not be snapped as hard as if they were tethered closely together. The ice axe is to assist them in stopping. The EUC would be ditched and they would throw themselves on the ground with ass up and axe in both hands and positioned in the chest. Clearly in the video they are not on a glacier, rather just testing out how it feels. That said, just getting to to a glacier on an mountain would be a bit much for an EUC due to the lack of trails at those altitudes and the typical deep snow which requires snow shoes to traverse. Also glacier travel requires crampons sue to hard ice and incline. Both things an EUC would fail at. So the more likely scenario is they would be practicing using EUCs for rescue on top of a frozen surface like a lake where heavier vehicles cannot go. That's my guess though. Can't explain why they'd say anything else, because an EUC could expedite a climb to a certain level on a mountain but a helicopter would be faster, more reliable and safer. From the photos I have to agree with you that they don't seem to understand the limitations of an EUC. They mine as well train with motorcycles outfitted for the terrain which are more versatile and cost almost the same. Either that or the best option is a jet suit.

I was pointing out the humorous side of what they are doing but I have total respect for what they are trying to achieve! I guess I am jusging everyone by my own incompetence when it comes to riding on difficult or slippy terrain!!

My lower back is currently blown out (non EUC related), and you are making me laugh and it hurts. 😂 In seriousness, we need to be careful riding EUC. It is in hot water already. We don’t need bystanders getting injured or killed. It’s going to get banned everywhere like skateboards.

Very sad news about the guy being killed by an EUC rider. Sadly, there are always self centred entitled prat’s in all walks of life…including EUC riders. This was bound to happen sooner or later. I am always nervous when Someone on a forum posts how he had learned to ride in 10 minutes on his new Sherman, Master it V13 and so enjoys blasting around town and hitting the beeps! IE….he is of limited intellect , has no idea of his own abilities and is an accident waiting to happen, who will give each and every one of us a bad name. Not falling off after 30 seconds is not riding! It takes time, practice, a good few hundred Miles / kms and experience before you can properly ride an EUC in a safe and responsible manner. So, don’t be a dick, and don’t venture out in amongst other people, bikes, scooters or vehicles until you are absolutely ready to do so, otherwise you might ruin someone’s life as well as your own.
