I happen to be studying how to calculate Euclidean Distance to measure dissimilarity between two observations as part of cluster analysis in data analytics. Which is why I am procrastinating and watching modular synthesis videos on youtubes. Okay, back to the books. Always enjoy the videos Mylar.

This was such a good tutorial. P.s. I'm not sure if this has been said already but "Stoicheia" in ancient greek means 'elements' or 'letters,' from putting something 'into a row'

What an inspiring video! I found this by Googling "Eucliean melodies" ... after watching this I immediately set about trying to see how I could replicate it. What I ended up with is Euclidean Circles > mult > Pittsburgh Sequencer/envelope or function generator. Using another output of Euclidean circles into Branches feeds random triggers to the Hold and Reset inputs on the sequencer to add some randomness and complexity. Great fun! Thanks!

I ran gate signals through my Maths using the summed output as a sequencer, and then the next day I saw a video from Superbooth previewing the Tonic. It's pretty cool, but I think I'll stick to using a mixer, as they are more multipurpose.

All of your videos are great! Would you say that owning the Euclidean Circles module and also getting the Stoicheia would be valuable? Very interested in this idea and nature of these modules and wasn’t sure if these two modules operated measurably different or could be used in a really unique ways individually for live purposes
@mylarmelodies3 жыл бұрын
The best way to describe their differences is to do with immediacy vs amount of channels - Euclidean Circles has more channels but uses pages so it's a shade less immediate (it is a VERY friendly 'paging' system though) - whereas Stoicheia has everything immediately there on the panel, but less channels.

Either this or the VPME one are the ones I've tried, both good for different reasons! The VPME has more outputs but has shared controls, this has less outputs but dedicated controls.
