lithium is actually just a heavy, heavy salt but that salt is proven to work as a mood-stabilizer bc brain chemistry. i used to be convinced it was battery acid (can’t tell you why) but i had a psych explain to me, as if it made it any better, it’s “just” a super heavy salt that you can’t safely consume otherwise & even then a lot of people have hospitalization-worthy side effects. once i saw this happen with my own two eyes i refused to take it once they pushed it on me. no wonder they took it out 😅😅

That's me for sure. Worst headache I ever had in my entire life was when I drank a bottle of Coke Zero that the owner of a cafe I was a regular at gave me for free. I don't like the taste of diet soda but I didn't want to be rude about a gift I was given so I went ahead and drank it and an hour later I had to leave work early for the day because my head felt like it was splitting open.

We had a slight variation on this in Australia. It was called 'Heads down, thumbs up'. Usually four people went to the front of the class, everyone else had to put their heads down on the desk with their thumbs up, then the four would go round and had to each wiggle someone's thumb. If your thumb was wiggled you had to make a fist. At the end you'd have to guess who it was that wiggled your thumb and then replace that person if you guessed correctly.

It was definitely a game. Everyone had to put their heads down and thumbs up. Some pre-selected kids would go around and tap seven thumbs down. When they were finished, they would say “heads up seven up” and the seven would stand. The seven each had one guess as to who tapped their thumb down. If they were right, they got to join the selected students.
