It's nothing I would choose to write. The band version is a classic, and the lyrical solo is already a feature for euphonium within the band. Euphonium also gets to play some of the 6/8 melody, so it's already a great piece to play just as Holst wrote it! But we don't always have a band with us while playing a recital ;-)

Thank you Mr. Werden and Mrs. Young. Your rendition makes my day. This is the first time I hear my favorite march played as a duet, Euphonium and Piano. Great!!!!!!

Very beautiful playing. I love the evenness of tone throughout all registers of your playing. Not to mention, your sound is truly a pleasure to hear; it's glorious.

Hey Dave, Just wanted to let you know that my college tuba/euph ensemble (of 25 this year!) Are playing the arrangement of this. I had to tell them about the great David werden. It is such a great arrangement. I just wish I could play the first euph part better :^) Thanks

Are band didn’t have a euphonium-so I had to play it on horn-however if I could learn another instrument it would definitely be the euphonium.

I don't understand your question. I am playing a true euphonium in this video, and that is my primary instrument. (I also own a true British-bore baritone; you can find a video of my playing it on An die Musik on KZbin.)

Why do you recommend a true baritone over a euphonium?
