I think Euphoria actually has really good story, but your gonna have to stick with it. I saw Sydsnap video and tried Euphoria thinking it couldn't be "that bad" coming from her and even though I REALLY, tend to stay away from these type of Visual Novels, I fell in love with this Novel's story. And thank god for the poop filters. Nemu is like easily in my top 5 of Visual Novels characters. I love her so much. And I think I'm the only one like actually likes Rika. Lol There's like 3 things I don't like. 1st is Keisuke is slightly underdeveloped for the first part of the Novel. The 2nd is actually the anime. Because there is some anime exclusive stuff that really should in the Novel. Would of at least helped tie up some loose ends that the novel has. And the 3rd is the actual "gameplay" because of the illusion of choice. Not picking the same character all 5 times, wastes my time. I would of liked some additional content If you wanted to switch it up halfway through or pick a different girl every time.
@philippecroteau37202 жыл бұрын
I too really like Rika. I also like all the main cast. I find them well-written, complex and human. For Rika, I was really surprise how almost everyone on internet hate her or don't care about her. I don't know how to explain but I just like the realistic portrayal of her character in the context of Euphoria and how she develop in her route. Don't get me wrong, I also like Nemu, Kanae, Rinne and Natsuki. Not equally but I find them all solid from a story and character standpoint. I hope that I'm not sounding too pretentious. That's just my opinion after all.

In the first half of the story, I thought "Serves you right". Then at the second half, I really considered that if I'm a monster or not by doing such cruel things to her. Her character development through the story was really good. I have many things to say about Rika but my broken english won't allow me to xD. Anyway if I rank the characters, it will be this: Nemu>Rika>Kanae>Rinne>Natsuki

@@chasseurdetigrou Uh oh, I've been caught! That's actually pretty surprising. I guess a small reddit post and a fairly small visual novel reviewer have the same viewer base. Seeing this video, I feel less ashamed saying I think this game has a really good story. Though most of the... other stuff... still isn't my cup of tea. And I can't really recommend it to people I know for fear of being ostracized. I'll probably replay it one day to catch the stuff I missed and didn't understand.
@chasseurdetigrou2 жыл бұрын
@@ZileansHardClock Yeah same here, it's the story that really hooked me, after a while the CG scenes were just "meh alright", with only a few of them being really good imo. There's like one scene that really shocked me where I was like "nope, this is too much", you guessed it, the red Kanae flashes in the brute end. And yeah this isn't really the stuff you could suggest unless you really know the person and their taste. As a VN introduction, I think Sanguine Rose is pretty good, even though it's very different from Euphoria. I've been thinking about your question on reddit, as to what was real and what was simulation, and even though I can't really come up with a definitive answer, I don't think the game really gives you one, and I don't think anyone could really give you one without stepping a bit into theory territory. There are scenes that contradict one another, and we're just not given enough information. Since Keisuke is the narrator, we're only given the information he's getting, and knowing that he had his memories, feelings etc erased and modified so much, it makes sense that he just gives up trying to even understand the whole thing, as he says when meeting Natsuki by the end of the true route, he's powerless, this whole thing goes beyond his comprehension. It's also quite convenient for the storywriters not to give too much info, but tbh, simulations are quite a nightmare if you're trying to fill all the plot holes, I wouldn't blame them, in the end it doesn't matter that much to me, what's simulated or not, in the end he's broken all the same.

Hit the nail on the head on all accounts. It still amazes me that underneath all that scat and sadism lies an actually gripping love story... even if the True End did leave more than a few loose ends. Whenever I ask why 90% of anime takes place in high school, people respond "because their target audience is high schoolers." Then why is there so much H content set in high school? Sure high schoolers still probably read it but they are clearly targeting adults. I'll never understand Japan's obsession with high school. This story could've easily taken place in a college or a office setting.

@@OtakuAudioRedux it is, and you're right on the equivalence. Unlike most of the world where you actually have a chance on retiring early or quitting jobs, doing that in Japan (for big and/or traditional companies) is still frowned upon. It's on the same level as socially ostracizing yourself; as if you aren't thankful you got the opportunity to work in the company & the people that hired you. College in Japan is treated as a lock to which industry you're willing to work. this game is so complex and deep, yet youve managed to sum it up so well in such a concise way. your thoughts on it pretty much echo all of mine, from the silly complaints like the HORRIBLE "erotic" dialogue and just really not liking rika, to the absolute depth and beauty thats hidden under all this. nemu (THE best girl) and keisuke are some of the most disgustingly flawed, beautifully written characters i have ever come across. keisuke is genuinely on of the best protagonists ive ever seen. the game is far from perfect, but it easily became my absolute favorite of all time while also genuinely traumatizing me. at times it really is a slog, and a lot of scenes feel like pointless filler even for the medium, but the end is beyond worth it. and as for the confusion throughout and especially DURING the end, i think its intentional. while far from being a total player stand-in like a lot of eroge MCs, you are still meant to play in keisuke's shoes, and the confusion of the story is meant to be HIS. by the end you have no idea which parts were real and which werent, and i think that is by design, so for that reason i find it to be really incredible. i do still wish the other girls were given more depth like the more crucial players. justice for 2nd best girl natsuki

I went into this game pretty blind. I knew it would be rough and full of not so savory elements, but my curiosity got the better of me. I refused to look up even light reviews because I wanted to be blindsided firsthand. Big mistake on my part. Only towards the end did I actually enjoy the story and it's complex layers of deception. This game was sort of like torture first hand for the player. Especially if a lot of these elements for the unlocking scenes were foreign or repulsive. There are times my most hated scene from that game flashes across my memory and I almost physically cringe every time. To me, that visceral rejection and off-putting sexual elements was a driving force to seek the true ending and hope for something better for all involved in the narrative. In short, I hated this game for what it was in its entirety. It made me sick. It kept me in a state of anxiety of what could possibly top the last form of torture. But I feel it set out to do that on purpose. Even if it was for the more extreme audiences for enjoyment initially. That step over the line out of my comfort zone is what made it memorable. I can't recommend this game to anyone with a weak stomach and are used to vanilla eroge. But it is an experience that will stick with you once you get the true ending. That made it all worth it. Side note: never replaying it again lol

Rika's ザーメンゲップ scenes are lewd and cute! Even still, I can't help but wonder. Dramatical Murder has a super cool cyberpunk story, Sweet Pool has a Saya no Uta-esque Omegaverse story, Togainu no Chi has a dark gritty street-fighting story; these Nitroplus Chiral novels all have twisted romances and body-horror fetishism combined with philosophy. I wonder if you're too squeamish to review them, but you're more than happy to read novels like Euphoria and Kuroinu which feature women and little girls being defiled violently and much more extreme content than anything from Nitroplus Chiral? "It's so deep bro, it's so deep, you just don't understand it." I'm not telling you to stop bro, I'm just telling you to read your first BLge. Your subscribers won't think you're gay, I promise! If anything, they will think you really do care about the stories of VNs and can review anything. If Musumaker gets fully translated, you would probably read it as it has the same premise as Dohna Dohna, albeit without Splatoon-parody visual styling. Hadaka Shitsuji is tame in content compared to Starless, even though it has a Doberman option. Hadaka Shitsuji is one of the funniest VNs ever and it has a very campy style and OP movie, I love the joke ends with the muscle grandpa and the protag's dick turning giant and exploding. Room No.9 has almost the same premise as Euphoria (with less than a quarter of the extreme content) and it is made by a subsidiary of Clock-Up (Euphoria's company), Parade. I would just like to see you explore more content outside of your comfort zone, and that way you can grow your channel even more 😊♡

Before it was translated a lot of people were praising the story. I enjoy these Cube-like stories and I'm not put off by extreme porn so it got me pretty hyped to read it. Ultimately the story felt pretty underwhelming. Sure, it's better than the average nukige... but that's hardly an accomplishment. The porn itself is top notch tho. A rare case of "came for the story and stayed for the porn" instead of the other way around. I feel sorry for the people who experienced it through the anime "adaptation", if you can even call it that.

Ouch a bit of a low point in the channel in my opinion, interesting analysis but to put this on the same level as School Days is, well, a little psychotic... Having a decent story, if you can even call it that, locked behind such deplorable and disgusting content doesn't negate the fact that the first three quarters of the story is literally promoting illegal content and just outright complete immorality...
