Euro NCAP Frontal Impact takes place at 64 Km/h, 40% of the width of the car striking a deformable barrier. In the Full Width test, 100% of the width of the car impacts a rigid barrier at 50 Km/h. In the side impact, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door at 50 km/h. In the pole test, the car tested is propelled sideways at 32 km/h into a rigid pole.

SLO Grozni Gašper yeah, not sure what that's all about. Seems to come from the extra "bulge" that's part of the bag.

Maybe these explosions are for secondary impacts, collusions or roll overs...

SLO Grozni Gašper the bags have duel chambers, if the crash isn't too severe the bag inflates to a set amount, if it's severe an extra chamber ignites to provide more protection.

if the frontal impact doesn´t kill you the secret exploding airbag will - Renault calls this a "feature". But at least it did not roll over like the Espace V onthe side impact

The easiest way to double the smart key reception distance is to install a ferrite core on the front/rear power line to increase the reception distance and reduce battery discharge in winter. @@ThatManWhoSoldTheWorld Why are they not real renaults, they are dacias with Renault logos (Sandero, Kwid, Kangoo, Logan, Duster) that are very insecure and of little comfort, compared to European Renault as a megane , talisman, arkana etc

Not really safe. A VW T4 crashed frontal into the Renault Koleos in Germany (Georgensgmünd). 2 Kids dead. A 34 old woman dead. Driver seriously injured. All passengers in the Koleos. The 19 year old driver in the VW with his 17 year old girl survived.

@@stayphun6188 Really sad. The father, who is the only survivor yet, is in critical condition. Maybe its better for him not to wake up. His family is gone. I did not understand why nearly all passengers died. The Renault Koleos was seriously damaged. It seems to me, that this car is not that safe. There has been accidents with a T4 and other cars similar to that one. The passengers survived. But in this case even the kids in the rear died. This is not usual!

In that crash was involved a first generation Koleos, the model produced until 2014, not the second generation tested in the video.

Some systems won't apply the full brake force until the driver pushes the pedal, then it will give 100%. They probably didn't react so they could see how the car behaved by itself. There are a few reasons AEB systems behave this way, usually it's so the the driver doesn't rely solely on the system. Same reason most systems only activate when an accident is become unavoidable. Also keep in mind that if the driver doesn't apply the brakes sufficiently to avoid an accident, the system will increase the pressure using the sensors to support the driver.

louis smeets they are, and I had a look at the specifics on the euroncap site. As they actually perform about 12 tests but only show 3 or so. It did mitigate most of the accidents, this particular system seems to have limitations avoiding the accident altogether with stationary cars or slow moving cars above 80k/h. It avoided all others.

louis smeets There is always the need to find the balance between intentional and unintentional tailgating so that the system wouldn't go off when not needed, likely causing an accident by stopping the car in the middle of the road, only to mitigate an false alarm.

The passenger airbag at around the 0:25 mark? Not sure but you can see an extra part where the spark/glow comes from at about 0:55 seconds. Wonder if it's like a dual stage mechanism or something to make sure it deflates correctly. I'm sure if it was a problem, EuroNCAP would have noted it.

at 1:17 side airbag works properly on side impact. May be the delay occurred on purpose for frontal impacts.

yutuniopati these are delayed in may other makes as well. Not sure why, perhaps the forces traveling down the vehicle tripped the sensor or it may have senses the sideways movement and it triggered due to risk of rollover as it was just the passenger side that deployed in the frontal impact.

Araçtakilerin aldığı hasara bakılıyor arabanın aldığı hasar çok önemli değil mesela egeada airbag patladığı zaman sürücünün kafası geri gelirken araca çarpıyo o puan düşürülmesine sebep oluyor ya da arkadaki, çocuk yolcuların kafaları kapılara vuruyor. Mesela burada sürücünün kafası geriye gelirken perde hava yastığına sürtüyor direk kapıya çarrpmıyor vs
