Mcdermott lived the dream, he's playing for Newcastle and loses an FA cup final to liverpool but such a liverpool fan he swaps shirts at the end and gets his medal in a LFC shirt, next minute he's signed by Liverpool and spends his prime in the greatest era of the club winning everything that was going, fantastic stuff!

I was at this match. This is the first time I have seen the actual playback. When I arrived there weren't any programmes left, it wasn't until the late '90's that I managed to get one at Romford market. The atmospher on the night was something I'll never forget! Great night!!

Hi Steve, I was behind the goal to the left about 1/3 the way up when Kenny scored, the crowd went mad. Couldn't speak for a couple of days, my voice went. Had two programmes, my mate didn't want it after I bought them????

OK, it's not a thriller, but it's enthralling, you can really sense the atmosphere, and both these teams ooze class. With respect to today's players and fans, my favourite era for football is 1966-1996 - after that the soul seems to go out of it.

You can hear Brian Moore commenting, thinking he's inaudible to air, how loud the fans are. 5:42 . There's an earlier instance as well, telling someone not to wear their headphones I think, because the noise will be too loud.

I disagree, if you watch football nowadays, keepers waste so much time that any perceived benefit from the no back pass rule has been lost. If you look at enough footage from this era, you will notice that the flow of the game is much better than today .
