Eurovision 2024 - My Top 37 With Comments & Ratings (before the show)

Hi everyone! Finally, I finished my overall top 37 of Eurovision 2024 before the show with long comments, as I like. But this time, I tried to do something different, namely, take some of my comments and read them with my voice. So, I could see the difference in how the text comments on screen look and how voice comments sound, what's easier to take. To combine pleasant with useful, I put my voice comments only on the videos that had any copyrights. So, it didn't turn out to be that well but come on, at least I tried.

Forgot to add the ratings for 4th - 1st places, they're all 9.5/10, I'm not giving any 10s before the Eurovision performances Yeah, it's a experimental top. I mixed my usual text comments and tried the voice ones at the same time (on videos that have any copyrights, to do business and pleasure at the same time). I even accidentally did both with Poland, the text comment wasn't supposed to be here. Sorry, when I record my voice I become kinda... not nervous but more of intense, so my English becomes more Slavic than I expect and the flow and emotions are lacking. Well, at least I tried, maybe it will be better next time. At least, automatic KZbin subtitles were able to understand me, so I don't have to continue making them.

To be fair, “I’m still wet from this October Rain” was an unfortunate line anyway. Kind of up there with Anna Bergendahl’s “And if my knees are weak, I’m still a Desert Flower” from “Kingdom Come”. Some things you just shouldn’t put in the same sentence…

I have Ukraine ranked lowly as well, and for the same reasons. The more I listen to it and learn about it, the less I like it. And while Jerry and Alyona are talented individually, I don’t think they have much chemistry. I’m sure it will qualify but if this even comes close to winning I’ll be disappointed.

I don't think the outro of Europapa passes the 3 minute limit! On Spotify the 'main song' is 2:40, with the part of the outro used in the video it's exactly 3:00. He has to keep it, that's what makes the entire song a masterpiece

Switzerland and Spain are the ones I listen to on loop at the moment, along with San Marino, so I totally agree on those ones! I don't know that for sure but that's a rumor that seems to be the true one since 2022 was supposed to be the year with Kirkorov doing all the stuff for Russia and this song (Liar) is written by Kontopolous who is kinda in his team. So, it was very likely. But certainly, that song was going from one broadcaster to another and was supposed to be the Greek one last year.

Never got published. I'm usually busy/not in the mood after the Eurovision, so I usually make almost no videos at that time, even the top after the show I publish like 1-2 months after. But last year was specifically tough: I accidentally deleted a lot of my videos, the Eurovision week itself was kinda disappointing (not just the predictability and Loreen winning over Kaarija, but also Unicorn and Due vite finishing 3rd and 4th, flop of a lot of interesting entries and overall feel like plastic world completely won) and I was even more busy. But I have this video almost done, so maybe I will publish it somewhen in April.

Statement regarding Israel: I personally wouldn’t wanna play that stupid game of not including it cuz it’s Israel either. I get it, Israel bad and all that, but to automatically not even RANK them is just dumb. Maybe I’m biased cuz I actually watched Israel’s NF, HaKokhav Haba, with a few other people (mainly other Israelis), even tho I’m neither Jewish or an Israeli. About the comments with your voice, it's an understable idea but it needs to be more polished imo. Sometimes, it feels a bit unnatural (i have the feeling that you talk by reading your comments (idk if I'm clear here)) and a bit monotonous (some intonation could made it better). However it still such a pleasure to have your comments. About my top 37, here it is (with some comments): 37.🇦🇱 36.🇲🇩 35.🇮🇸: oh god, Iceland's journey is already a mess. About the song itself, it's at the same level of the two previous one: generic and not interesting enought. 35.🇨🇾: well, it looks dated, generic and arrogant. Maybe it can grew on me with the live but for now, it's just here. 34.🇬🇷: I know she's a fan favorite and that nearly everybody loves this entry. Personnaly i have the feeling to hear a succession of melody that didn't match together without any transition. The result in the end is pretty flat and annoying. Sorry but I can't. 32.🇬🇧: well, I already know that it will be overhyped by so many eurofans because he's a famous artist (I'm maybe the only one who didn't know who he is before he was annonced). And the song is... well generic and uninterresting again. 31.🇺🇦 30.🇮🇱 29.🇦🇿: I thought that I will place this one higher but this year still strong despite some disappointment (imo). The path that choose Azerbaïdjan here still interesting but it's clearly not nought to stand out. 28.🇫🇮 (grew off a bit) 27.🇦🇺 26.🇦🇹: Sorry but here I can't place this higher. I don't find something particular here, it tries to be atmospheric and very catchy but doesn't work imo. It sounds more flat, generic and overproduced. The live performance will be crucial here. 25.🇪🇸 24.🇵🇱 23.🇩🇰 22.🇱🇺 21.🇱🇻 20.🇲🇹 19.🇸🇲 18.🇩🇪 17.🇸🇪 16.🇷🇸: well, even if I was for Zorja during pze, it still a very beautiful song from Serbia (especially with the meaning) and the staging is very good too. 15.🇵🇹: Portugal continues to do their own thing and thiw time with a very unusual entry and god, it's so gooooood and enjoyable. Maybe something missing to be a bit more memorable but still a good effort. 14.🇨🇿 13.🇳🇱: I will never expected this country choosing internally someone who usually does this type of song and yes, it's very funny. Thanks. Yeah, voice comments were just an experiment and I see all the issues. Yeah, I read them, I couldn't do it otherwise. And I become intense while recording, so the emotions are lacking, there're a lot of pauses. Well, at least I tried to pronounce the separate words more or less right, even KZbin auto generated subtitles understood me. So, people at least can just turn them on.

Actually, I planned to add subtitles on KZbin,even started writing them. But then, KZbin automatic subtitles turned out to be good, so I advice to turn them on

Мужик, нравится формат, в котором ты поясняешь, что тебе конкретно нравится и не нравится в песне, но пожалуйста, делай клипы чуть больше. Такой большой текст за те несколько секунд, которые есть, очень сложно прочитать, приходится перематывать и стопать

Понимаю. Тут чтобы всё прочитать прямо в процессе, клипы никакой длины не помогут. Тупо если интересно, ставить на паузу, неинтересно - игнорить, больше вариантов нет. Ну или полностью переходить на озвучку голосом, тогда клипы все равно долгие нужны... идеала нет, приходится экспериментировать
