Joost dedicated this song to his father, who died when he was 12. His dad taught him that the world has no real boundaries, his mother died a year later. A very meaningful and powerful song behind the fun beat

Joost was orphaned at the age of 12/13 and was raised by his siblings. He said this song was a letter to his deceased father/parents and he is talking about feeling alone where ever he goes. In the lyrics there is a part in which he says 'I am alone in Germany and in Italy I am in pain' and 'I have paid money to people to help me (mental health issues) but that didn't work. The burning of the picture of him at a young age with his parents and burning down the house is a symbol of burning your (painful) past and to start living with him saying 'the world has no borders/boundaries' and 'I listened to you dad'. So there is a darker meaning of the song but brought in a funny and happy exterior if that makes sense. Thank you for liking the song 🙂

About the song from the Netherlands. In Dutch ´papa´ means ´daddy´. So he sings about his father who once tought him there are no borders (limits). No borders like now in the EU. His father died when he was only 12 years old. I guess, that's why you see the kid that looks like him and the old dude in the video. The title of the song translates as Eurodaddy. All in all it is well put together. I think this is probably the Eurovision song with the biggest personal touch ever! Even I, as an old dude myself (63 years old), I was really touched by his song. I recognized a lot in him. And I think many people who have had heavy traumatic experiences on a very young age and had to struggle hard to get the chaos sorted, also. I hope he will win... WELL DONE JOOST! GO FOR IT!

As mentioned, its an ode to his dad (and mom) and Europe. He promised his dad he would be on the Eurovision stage (when he was 12...) and he made it 😁. He sings about how he can meet anyone (in Europe) without needing a visum, and one could argue he is referring to his father here too (pretty hardcore imo). The burning house at the end represents leaving things behind and moving on, so gotta see it positive. Also, the style is 100% Dutch happy hardcore. Go absolutely mental in the weekend and go back to being boring on monday. The whole thing is a masterpiece imo, and i cant wait to see him perform this year. Letsgo loco people!!!

Carry the memories with you but also their lessons. Joost is no joke he is a survivor right through the pain to party on the eurovision stage. NL 4 THE WIN

About Joost Klein - Europapa: The song is a letter to his parents who died when Joost was still young. His father told him that since humans invented the borders, he could invent the world, his own world. And so he did! The end with the burning picture and house means that it's time to stop grieving about his parents and step into a new phase in his life.

It's Cyprus of course there will be dancing! 😂 Dancing diva acts are their bread, their butter, their water, their air, their everything. They have a formula for dancey medditeranian summer bops and they do not break from that and honestly I respect that. Cyprus is the most consistent country in ESC: the music quality for such a small nation and the 12 points to Greece whenever possible, you can always count on them to be consistent.

Hey people’s, I’m a Dutchie that hates gabber or hardcore music. it's just not my style but after listening a few times again. I become totally obsessed with this music. My advice for people who don't like this music on the first time that give ‘EUROPAPA’ some more time and listen again. the reason why this music is going big and (big chance) winning this ESC 2024. 1. in a short time there are so many views. no one in Dutch history has managed to get views in such a short time. This song would definitely be top 1 on Televote. 2. there is a big ART, meaning and story inside of this music with a lot of emotion. but most people don't know, their dont give a sh***t about it! 3. the song/chorus is constantly stuck in your head. But this brings pleasure, joy and sadness. Like you're on a roller coaster 4. this music is easy to sing. 5. who doesn't like cheerful music. 6. The vibes is amazing, in addition very catchy. 7. For the people dont know! Joost klein is amazing singer, has a lot of live stage experience, he has many fans in several European countries. So ‘ EUROPAPA’ for the win! 🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱

Ahhhh this is so hard - the quality overall is amazing this year. So out of these songs my personal order would be 🇨🇭= 🇳🇱-> 🇬🇧-> 🇦🇹--> 🇨🇾 I can’t decide between Switzerland and NL - both have very strong messages - Nemo with the binary code telling the story of how they found peace through their journey of discovery of their gender identity, and just such an incredible song to showcase that. And the NL message - Joost had me in tears with that rollercoaster. It hits so hard when you have the translation - but we’re going to party to that in Malmö and the preparties 🥰. I really think that Olly will elevate the UK so much on stage. And I heard a live performance and it was incredible. Also, let’s see the preparties for that. Austria I also really enjoy - nostalgic throwback. Cyprus was fun, I enjoyed it, I just found it a bit less original than the others. And it’s in one of the toughest ever semi final halves so it has a hill to climb to qualify. The other 4 will definitely be in the final. As you said though - how do we even predict this year?? So hard!! Switzerland and NL are in my top 6. I can’t even narrow it down to a top 5 because there are so many songs I love

Austria a cheap version of Germany’s Cascada from 2013. Very dated. UK however, is probably the best produced song this year and is purposefully put together for the stage and live performance. This will elevate once that happens. UK douze points
