Eurovision Reaction | Goth Minister | We Come Alive

It's officially ‪@EurovisionSongContest‬ season, and today I'm reacting to goth metal band ‪@gothminister‬ who, unfortunately, didn't make it to the finals to represent their country. Nevertheless, they are a band I admire, and I find their song "We Come Alive" to be impressive. So, let's dive into their performance in the finale in Norway, and perhaps I can discern why this talented band didn't progress further.

I am not fond of Eurovision contest and in general I avoid it. This song seems to be good for Eurovision standards. Glad to see you Dom back to reactions with smile back on your lips!

Usually neither am I. Eurovision 2021, though, had Blind Channel ("Dark Side") which I think came in 6th, and was won by Maneskin with "Zitti i Buoni" which is an incredible banger. My favorite EV contest of all.

That is a great track, bit of metal, a bit of electronic music It reminds me of the 80's in a good way. Definitely a good Eurovision song. shame it didnt get through

Ah, didn't know they were trying to get the nomination. But I did see Gothminister live a couple of time in the early 2000's here in Norway.

@@themetalmuse Honestly it's been such a long time I don't recall anything about the quality. But unless I'm mixing it up with another concert, I think they had an elaborate rig just off-stage where the woman in the band changed her attire to conduct some sort of dance routine. This was unusual, as the stage at this venue ( _Garage_ here in Bergen, which has now closed down) was one of those where the band has to walk through the audience, so there's no backstage behind the stage, and no obscured areas to the sides of the stage.

I went into the national final wanting GM to win. Like you, I love their music. However, the act that came first was outstanding. It was Gåte, a folk metal group, with Ulveham. They really did deserve to win the National Final. Unfortunately they ended up coming last in Eurovision which was not merited, but metal is not a genre that does well at Eurovision. Give ma a couple of days to prepare it & I'll add it to this post. I've already made a few suggetions on your Bambie Thug video. It's nice to find someone else who loves metal like I do. My wife does, but her taste isn't as varied as mine. I think in her heart she prefers rock but daredn't tell me, or doesn't want to upset me. lol

I always think the stanky face he makes at the beginning makes him look like Danny DeVito's Penguin haha. I love this song, it was the first one in this Eurovision season I added to my playlist.

I've just been looking over your videos and you don't have a reaction to Iceland's Eurovision entry from 2019 - "Hatrið mun sigra" by Hatari - is it possible you haven't seen that yet?
