Next song: Over The Rainbow (originally from the Judy Garland movie The Wizard Of Oz) and then the live version from Blues Alley which was recorded just months before she passed away.

Eva Cassidy was so incredible what a voice and talent. It was such a tragedy and loss to the world when she died of cancer at only 33 years old in 1996, but her music will forever live on. Some other Eva Cassidy recommendations are Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Danny Boy, Time After Time, Autumn Leaves, What A Wonderful World, Songbird. Thank you for your reaction.

Definitely one of my favourite voices of all time. So easy to get lost in it. She made every note valuable and her control was incredible. Fantastic guitarist too. Such a huge loss. Of all the many songs I’d like to recommend I’ll pick one - Time is a Healer - just because there’s a moment in the bridge that is quite possibly my favourite piece of singing by anyone ever!

Let's not forget that Eva was also a revered guitarist, one of my favourites is "I know you by Heart "

Eva’s version ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’ from ‘The Wizard of Oz is pure gold. Sadly Eva passed away much too soon in 1996. She was just on the verge of breaking into the big time. In the UK, she was discovered after her death by a well known TV and Radio Host Sir Terry Wogan. RIP Sir Terry and RIP Eva 💖😢💖

Eva's Voice is so precise, powerful and beautiful. You really need to hear her version of Somewhere over the rainbow. In my opinion, is so much better than even the original! But I have to warn you, hearing her version with acoustic guitar, will most definitely bring you to tears!

Thanks 🙏 ❤ - love to see your reaction / your expression in your eyes 🥰- Eva Cassidy was a wonderful interpreter of music- she left us to early 😢( why not female voices? - have you listen to the Bulgarian female choir! - and kd Lang, and Kate Bush, Bjørk, Susanne Sundfør, Kate and Anna McGarrigle and many many many more - Aurora you know - and Eyvor from Fairy Island

When you look at each other while listening to the song, it tells the whole story. But, remember that this song is great because of Eva's great talent as a singer and an arranger. Also, not to put a damper on this, but this is a story about a woman who knew she was going to lose her true love. At the end, he is buried under the fields of gold. Yet, her love never stopped.

Now that you've heard her you can hear her duet of this song with Angelina Jordan is just as exciting maybe even more so with Angelina's airy voice. Regarding Eva, you must hear her in the song "Some where Over the Rainbow"🦶🦶👑🗣🎙🎷

I would recommend Roberta Flack singing first time ever I saw your face. Has a beautiful voice and she also sings with so much emotion. It's really nice when you get songs that you can understand all the words.

I'm older than you guys, and yeah, I too think less is more. I want my music to touch me, wow me. Not assault me. (most of the time😏) Most of my old favs now sound more like a garish competition of the band members than music.

I dont know if you take requests from comments. I would LOVE for you to do this song from my favorite female singer/songwriter. The song is No Fear No Hurt No Pain No Broken Hearts by the Eurythmics. But dont do the live TV version, because on the studio version Annie Lennox sings the back ground vocals herself and she is so much better. I like the fan made video that has an orange haired doll like Annie's hair back then. It will not get blocked! The two fan-made videos dont get blocked (been up for years!) No one had reacted to it, except one channel, and it's such impressive vocals and production.

Try Imagine or Time after Time. Both songs were written for her, her only. Lennons version sounds like shit after listening to hers. Basically as a rule of thumb. Every song Eva Cassidy song turned into something MUCH better by her performance. Also, her live-performances that were recorded sounded even better. If she only hadn´t passed away by cancer. It was her own fault, so sad. But even in the end, the collected money they needed for her was given away to people who could benefit from it. She could have been a HUGE star, but she made clear she never would follow orders of a big studio. There is a video with Mick Fleedwood who explained her way of life. For female singers to listen to Eva is brutal, because you suddenly realize you never could be even near that perfect voice.
