i think how it cured him is probably a nice call back to root of nightmares.. an echo is a memory of a race defeated by the witness.. given shape by the light... a combination of light and dark... and in root of nightmares.. that same combo helped us take him down there

During this episode, The glowing bits on Mithraks's gear are orange. Normally, they're purple as we see when Eramis uses the echo to purge Nezzy away. In the Holo-conversation, it's back to orange. I think that and the line hints that the final god of pain is not done with the Kell of Light; his influence diminished, but not finished.

@@darkminer2674 When you gather all of Radiolaria samples, they will be displayed in a vitrine inside the HELM. and how they are showcased in such a way that they each represent an element or subclass. In the middle, there's this big multi-colored sample, a prismatic representative; on its left side, there are 3 smaller samples: yellow for solar, blue for arc, and purple for void. On its right, there are 3 more samples: red for [redacted], as Bungie puts it, green for strand, and dark blue for stasis.

Well, "acolyte" means student in a (usually) religious sense. So, yeah, the followers of Nezarec were the acolytes of Nezarec. It can be assumed there was a cult about him and that is what it's member considered themselves. They were mentioned after all, in the weapons from Root.

I hope the real nezerac comes back when hes actually at full power. The nezzy we fight in the raid just got revived so he was weak as fuck. Or we fight a mission inside someones mind who is corrupted and we fight him kind of like we do with savathun in the lucent hive’s minds in those battlegrounds from witch queen

Small detail I enjoyed; in the raid, Nezarec is defeated by mixing the Light and the Dark. With the Echo, Eramis cleansed Nezarec's curse using the Light and the Dark.

So admittedly I was out of D2 shortly after Shadowkeep. Got back in at Lightfall. I didn't get to see or hear as much from Bug Daddy as others might but... during the cutscene, something feels off about the way he speaks after being "cured." It doesn't carry through at the holoprojector, but when he says "I feel the light flowing through me once more," it sounds like the hybrid voice almost, or at least the pacing and nuances from Miihsrak's VA. Just sort of wilding this out there but... Nezzy may not have had access to the light since his defeat in the raid. What if he'd latched onto that once again once faced with the echo?... What if that's now wholely Nezarec with a balance of light and dark within a shell of Miihsraks? Doubtful, i don't think Nezzy would abstain and continue to try and play the long game after chomping at the bit for so long. If he'd had full access to the vessel, i'd anticipate an absolute bloodbath. But much like the mouse trying to bleed every drop out of their superhero IP's, sometimes one must ask.... No idea why they Bothered with the Whole Curse of Nezerac Plotline if Eramis was just gonna Care-Bear Stare the curse away anyway, though the worst part is even after Eramis "Cured" the Curse they still had Mithrax Drop the line "it's still in my Bloodstream" like it's a plot line they couldn't even be asked to do for the episode but want to come back to, either Cure Mithrax or have him succumb to it in the same storyline that heavily features it as a main plot point, Honestly one of the worst seasonal storylines they've ever done, up there with Worthy and Echoes for me, can't wait to see how they ruin Heresy if this is how the First 2 Episodes have gone so far

i'm guessing they are trying to leave more loose ends for more content later on as they've slowly ran out of things to explore. though it doesn't really make sense, they just shoved mithrax being infected by nezarec into the lore, something this major and they just drop a few small hints here or there and then bam this season drop.

@@kaijugeddon9238 i bet that the end of the next episode would be the echo either escaping or peacing out only to return sometime in the future when bungie is desperate for a deus ex machina. like an all powerful entity that we can't beat, even more powerful than the witness and the only way to beat it is to track down and merge all 3 echo and harness its power or some thing like that.

I was hoping Fikrul would turn Mithrax into a Scorn, and Nezarec would take over. Nightmares and zombies seem to fit too well for it to not happen. Maybe Nezzy was able to escape into the revenant plane? Maybe the Scions or the Dread have a way to bring him back.

Nearest is just another enemy Bungie keeps throwing up every time we turn around. It needs to go away permanently, now. I hate fighting the same enemies over, over, over too many times. They didn't get rid of Miya in echoes 🤬. This has to stop! They should have a good enough imagination to come up with new enemies for us to fight!!!
