FA Barragan; Exactly and you forgot to mention Ali who also had a lot of respect for him as well. Ali congratulated Duran after his fight with Davy Moore and if I am not mistake made reference to him being the greatest, just as a show of respect. My other thoughts on this is that I think they respect the fact that Duran comes from extreme poverty and there was nothing fake about him, in spite of which there was a loving side to him as well. Duran once said we are enemies in the ring but outside the ring we can be friends, and you see that when he greets all the former fighters he fought regardless as to whether he won or lost.

@B4 freedomfighter Hagler actually complemented Monzon as someone he wanted to be like, in the ring of course; I forgot how he phrased but it's out there. Anyway Monzon is often overlooked as a great fighter and would have been interesting to watch a Hagler versus Monzon fight both of whom had long reigns of title defenses as Middleweight champions.

Great interview too ..hagler was the the the greatest middleweight ever ......and Duran went up 25 lbs from his best ever weight and pushed Marvin ...he didn't beat him but he pushed him and that endorses both men's heritage!!

Evander "the ROID Deal" - have several personal friends who were body building and PT coaches who were very close to Lee Haney and Fred Hatfield - and knew DETAILs of exactly how roided to the gills (along w advanced training programs) Evander was his entire HW career - they CREATED him. While a valiant warrior heart and combatant for sure, his ENTIRE HW career is defaulted by his extreme levels of cheating to have an endurance and quick response to pain and injury (head shots) that steroids give. he was a MASSIVE cheat and fraud, along w his phony religious act while he cheated on his wife rampantly. along w the well known head butting.

Lee Haney PERSONALLY taught evader the art of timing roids - this is all VERY well known in the body building community were roid usage and timing is considered an art. Haney PERSONALLY has lauded his "accomplishment" for decades to friends like mine. btw - NOT a Tyson fan either. he's got serious psych issues. My favs are Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson, Benny Leonard, Willie Pep, Joe Gans, Sam Langford.
