When people talk to me about evanescence, they often mention songs like my immortal and bring me to life. and great as they are, there is so much more to this band than the most known ones. songs like this one, as well as lies, away from me, cloud nine and many more are just as good. I love this song, the open door is such a great album

People who don't like Evanescence are people who have only heard Bring Me To Life and/or My Immortal and define the band solely by those songs which they shouldn't. But in doing so, they've not even scraped the surface of Evanescence's musical prowess, and they have no idea how truly beautiful and wonderful this music is. It's a damn shame that this band doesn't get the respect that it so deserves.

This was one of my favorite albums a few years ago, and I didn't listen to it to fantasize about suicide or mull over how much I'm misunderstood or... whatever. Amy Lee is a genuinely gifted musician with a gorgeous voice, this band discusses the darker aspect in all of us, and although my musical tastes have evolved since then, I still love this music.
@seasonsstarsstudios4 жыл бұрын
Cavaille Stepanova see, what you just described is a cop-out for shitty parenting. It’s not actually a thing, no matter what stupid thing people believe. It all has to do with the environment in which kids are exposed. Parents don’t understand the emotional turmoil they put their kids through and so they blame everything else. Rock music, then metal, now video games. It’s the same excuse, just different objects. The fact that you bought into that excuse would be hilarious if it weren’t pathetic and reflective of your possibly toxic parenting style.
@seasonsstarsstudios4 жыл бұрын
Cavaille Stepanova while I definitely agree with the band’s artistry, think about how you said fantasizing about suicide like an idiot. No one actually listens to this kind of music to fantasize about suicide. That’s idiotic. People are already suicidal because their environment is toxic and they want a way out. Music itself is incapable of doing that. People, however, are capable of change but absolutely refuse. See, that’s the difference between a smart person and an imbecile. I sincerely hope you didn’t reproduce or adopt because your gullibility is astounding.
@2400crazy12 жыл бұрын
This is such an interesting version of Mozart's Lacrimosa from his Requiem Mass in D Minor. It's incredibly haunting. Evanescence has successfully (in my opinion) created a modern version of a classical piece composed hundreds of years ago.

Bethanie Weber I'm italian and both in my language and in latin Lacrimosa is a female adjective that is used to indicate someone "who cries" or something/someone "that provokes tears". I'm 100% sure of it.

Evanescence....To a great band who I listen to in my dark times. Who inspire me with so much of my writing. Your music bring surface much of the feelings I trap inside. Listening to you has help me bring it out. This helps me write the poetry that I've come to write which help me coope with much of my life. Thank you. And please never stop making good music. Love a fan since forever.

I'm here to confirm where I recognized the music from the beginning of The LEGO Batman Movie trailer. And yes I realize this is from a Mozart piece.

I love the song, but I wish Amy had actually said the word 'Lacrimosa' in the song, it's so eloquent; she could have done something with it.
