@@agadmator Why don't Fabi, Nepo & Hikaru buy out Liren with permission from FIDE for the 2024 WCC? Each of the 3 pays 333,333 USD, and then they have a playoff where winner faces Gukesh. (Or 499,999 USD.) Fabi & Nepo were about to bet 1m USD on 15+0 with Hans & Nodirbek, so surely 333,333 isn't a problem. I'll tell you a secret: For 2023 WCC, Liren bought out Magnus for zero USD. @@agadmator What do you think about displaying also the number of the moves (maybe next to the time)? Even if there is no extra time given in this tournament, I think in some games it can help people easily understand how big is the time pressure/how moves the players still have to make.

About the statistics that u mentioned , Alireza faced Magnus and Fabi when he was literally a teenager and completely inexperienced and hence had a bad result against them in total .. but if u check their very recent encounters, it is to some extent balanced .. but with Ding he started to play him when he reached his maturity in chess and getting good results
@Essaion0
@Essaion0 2 ай бұрын
That's actually very far from the truth. Alireza played against Ding before playing against Fabi or Magnus, and he did managed to draw the 2 classical games during this encounter, making a name for himself (that would be during a world cup, maybe 2018 or something).

@@camilohiche4475 I don't get the narrative that Ding is some sort of fraud. Sure, he's in a slump, but that doesn't take away from any of his past achievements. Remember, this is the player who defeated Magnus Carlsen to win the 2019 Sinquefield cup. He's won the chessable masters, he's won the grand chess tour, and he did win an incredible world championship match against Nepo, who didn't lose a game at the candidates To me, he's just a guy struggling with mental health. His crown is made of gold, but it's sitting on a head in turmoil, and I hope for the good of the chess world that he finds his way back to the player he was

I’m no GM, but here’s my ideas: Alireza is up two pawns, Alireza has his rook behind his past pawn, and Ding’s king is out in the open. Otherwise, it’s a relatively equal position. My idea is for Alireza to push his past pawn. If Ding defends, Alireza should create a second past pawn on the queen side: the theory of two weaknesses. All trades favor Alireza.
