Nice to see another project that goes beyond the standard living dex! I started my own project about a year ago to try and beat the eventual closure of Bank - my current priority is getting all of the Friend Safari Pokémon with the hidden abilities (i.e. the pentagon origin mark, a Kalos met location, and their HA) before non-Bank 3DS online functionality closes

Good job on your dex. But just one main thing that you missed: Mothim has multiple internal forms, just like Rockruff and Zygarde. There are three different Mothim depending on which colored Burmy they evolve from.

I have other ideas you may be interested in: In-game Trade Dex. A lot of NPCs in both the mainline games as well as Colosseum and XD you can trade with. Eventdex. Just a collection of all the event Pokémon you have in national pokedex order. My Ranch: The Gen 4 Wii game that gives trades with the npc Hayley, including Phione and Mew. Curtis and Yancy: The trade NPCs from Black 2 and White 2. Dream Radar: Another collection from Black 2 and White 2. They also unlock special legendaries if you hook up Gen 4 games while playing this game. Orredex: All purified Shadow Pokémon from Colosseum and XD. Be extra fancy and give them all the Earth Ribbon as well. Noah's Dex: Get male and female of all Pokémon from their original region.

By the way, one idea I want to implement is Smeargle(s) with signature moves of legendary/mythical/important mons. I intend to group them by the duos/trios they share, for example: Judgment, Roar of Time, Spacial Rend and Shadow Force, in a single Smeargle. I think it would be a good addition for you too :)) Success!

I've been building a living dex for well over a year now and had never even watched a video of someone else's 😂 I personally dont care about most of the things on your list but it is fun to see how different people have different criteria... All I go for is one version of each pokemon. Caught and bred by me unless it is a version exclusive and from the right generation unless I dont own the game 😂 Only mons that I dont have are the ones not available on switch plus a few mythicals. And I would love to catch my own Lugia at some point but I keep getting versions of games which dont have him 😭

Pokedexes like this had really inspired me in my journey of playing the games and what my end goals are. Currently the only thing I have in home are PLA pokemon, however I have also started to collect an entire pokedex transfered from pokemon go

Using this video to help me see how mine compares. I don't do much outside of the forms, but I think the other stuff you have is really cool. I'm also doing stuff that's outside of HOME as well: The Kyurem, Calyrex, and Necrozma Combos, the Gen 4 Legendries forms, Zacian and Zamazenta with their items, and Meloetta with Relic Song in my copy of Scarlet. All Totem Pokemon, All Mega Pokemon holding their stones, and Necrozma holding a Ultranecrozium Z in a copy of Ultra Sun. All Cosplay Pikachus in a copy of Alpha Sapphire. The Special Pichus in Soul Silver, and eventually I plan on playing XD to get a Shadow Lugia (Who I won't be purifying, I know I'm evil). Also, I do what I call "Item Credit" for things such as Arceus Plates, Sivally Memories, Gensect Drives, and Ogerpon Masks; basically if anything that requires more than one extra of a pokemon and they use an item to get that other form, I'm satisfied with just having the item. I just really do not want to try to get 18 Arceus' and Sivally. So far the only ones I'm missing are that Lugia and the Heart Furfrou. (Literally just found out the Furfrou forms could go to the game from GO) I plan on making a video going through all of this later on, thanks for this video as it gave me some tips on how I'd like to do mine. LASTLY: If you want a cursed idea that I'm never going to do, you can try to get an Alpha Dex in Legends.

Keeping the forms that cant be in home in Scarlet is really smart! It is forever saddening that the not all of the totem pokemon can go to home, would love to add them in but dont think I want just part of the collection just kicking around. Totally understand the not wanting to get 18 different arceus, was a bit scared when we didn't know if the forms would stay when deposited from legends. I can't wait to see the video, I love seeing other people's collections and how they handle them! Also that Alpha Dex idea might just be the right level of crazy to entice me.

Very impressive! I actually have the exact same set up. I have a complete all forms living dex, shiny dex, and a second living dex. I have a ton that I traded for that I am working on scrubbing out OT. I would recommend adding in a completed Alpha Dex. That is what I have been trying to finish once I get all the shinies from scarlet and violet. I wish I could get some of even gift pokemon with the special moves like celebrate.

The collection of N’s Pokemon gave me the idea to get all possible rival, gym leader, and elite 4 members Pokemon with their name in there region. I’m just not sure I’ll finish it before bank gets discontinued

My living dex is basically like yours but mushed together in one so its Living form dex sorted by family(Pichu is before pikachu same with blissy and Happiny) as i like to keep them all together as does regional forms and their potential evos. The only exception is Convergent evos and paradoxes as while they are similar they are counted as seperate mons and i keep shinies seperate too.

Very cute living dex, I love it By my side I am collecting each mon from the game they have been introduced, so basically, for example, my Oddish is from pokemon Red virtual console, My Noctowl is from pokemon gold virtual console, and so on. I also have a remake section in which the living dex restart but with only mons from the remake, so red fire, heart gold, omega ruby, etc. To every single mon I also Battle the league one time in the generation they come from, and if there is not league ribbon available, I take it from the closest league, by this way my pokemon black and white pokemons have the league ribbon from X and Y, and my virtual console mons have the alola ones. Well they will have, I am right while watching this video fighting the alola league billions of times for it xD I will also take some idea from you, I really like the all pokeballs collection you did. I am also planing to have other sections like, all shadow pokemons from colloseum and xd, or all the trade in-game trade pokemons from red to scarlet, I wish I will have the time to do all of that before bank closes :'>

Very nice collection! As you asked for further ideas, during lockdown I got all the trade Pokemon from My Pokemon Ranch on the Wii (I luckily still had it on my Wii so I didn't need to mod anything) That was a fun challenge, especially because the legit Mew at the end. Now they have their own dedicated Box in Home. Oh and Dream Radar might be a suggestion as well

My living form dex had a bunch of different OTs from wondertrade since I completed it in gen 6. Now I'm going through and cleaning it up by getting everything from their original game in a pokeball. I'm also collecting every in-game trade, and will be going for N's pokemon too once I get to gen 5. I'm also getting each mon that has a later evolution, so like a wydeer from gsc virtual console. I also have less than 50 mons for my shiny living dex as well, excluding shiny locked mons.

something i do is go on serebii for each game and theres usually a section on each for : Ingame trades, gift pokemon (form NPCs), interactables (story events or random quirks etc, like sudowoodo outside the battle frontier, spiritomb from the isle of armor etc).

Idk if you're aware but Mothim also has different forms technically, with each type of Burmy as its pre-evolution counting as a separate form. If ya want to add those to your collection as well!

14:53 My Shiny Mew from Go has the Footprint Ribbon. I had leveled her up to level 100 in Scarlet before having her gather ribbons in Brilliant Diamond. So, you still can get the Footprint Ribbon in BDSP if you want.

@@Turtle-Soup Haha, they sure do! If you want to store all that on one Home account you'll have only around 10 boxes of free space left. Of course you could migrate complete dexes to their respective games so that in Home you only store the XY/Hoenn, Alola, and Game Boy mark dexes. That way you havd room left for other things.

I'm surprised you don't have many/any "Memorial" boxes, for teams/pokemon you used a lot. Like, "This pokemon I used so much in this generation, so instead of just being in the dex it gets to be in the special box." like with the gardevoir.

I actually keep most of my teams in their respective games/generation, however it did lead to me forgetting about some pokemon, like single strike urshifu and my oldest surviving starter who is currently vacationing in hisui. Maybe one day I'll make like a hall of fame collection for them, but for now I like having them ready on hand whenever I boot up one of the games.

I sort mine alphabetically by evolution family bc that makes it easier for me to find them without having to remember where they are in natdex. The only exception is the Paradoxes having their own box-- my HOME and most of my games are in English, but my main playthrough of SV is in Spanish, and the paradoxes are some of the only mons to have unique names in Spanish, so giving them their own box was easier than figuring out how to alphabatize them. I also have seperate boxes for foreign names i really like (a safety measure put in place after I accidentally traded away Efoserp the German Serviper).

a suggestion to make it over the top (and im doing including shiny versions) is a scatterbug and spewpa for each form. In the game code, like Vivillon, they all have different forms which determine the form on evolution. it cant change and it can only be determined upon where they spawned from. i have an unupdated version of violet im shiny hunting them on bc the dlc update messed up how they work with fixing the outbreak form spawns.

If you want another collection then add Every ingame traded mon in the series, ie all the ones with an NPC name and nicknames. Im debating if i should Add N's pokemon to the group as they do fit even IF they are not traded. Unfortunatly im excluding gifted pokemons as they lack the characteristics of all the other ones as they lack the OT and TID of an npc tho i might do a seperate grouping for them now that i got the idea for it from you.

@@Turtle-Soup honestly it aint that bad, the only annoying thing is having to play through pokemon Blue Japanese version to get the exclusive trades there and maybe pokemon red/green to get the male nidoran as unless im mistaken you can only get the female in the international releases and i did not see it on the trade list for JpBlue. Another collection is to play through every single game(e.g Red Blue and Yellow might also throw in the japanese Blue there too as it has different stuff in it compared to the rest but i would not blame you if you skipped them) in the series and make a unique team with only pokemon from those gens(Remakes you use the gen it is a remake of) and then make a hall of fame for them or hell a series long nuzlocke(you pick bulbasaur you cant use it for the remaining games) with the unique rule applying.

I think it would be a good idea if you got every ledgendary/mythical from their original game as a shiny (if possible). You can shiny hunt them normally or you can get them from an event (not an event if you actually can shiny hunt them in their original game). And if they are shiny locked in their original game them you can either put them in as normal or, you can just get them from the first game after that that you can actually shiny hunt them in. Hope you like my idea. :)

I've been making living dexes since X&Y, however the Dexus project started around the time of the crown tundra, with the first big part I worked on was farming all the alcremie sweets from the cram-o-matic. For the events, I've been playing these games for a long time, so I have just naturally been through a lot, the most important probably being 20th anniversary distributions, as they let me fill in the few holes I had in the gens 1-5 mythicals, and have just made sure I have not missed any that have released since then. Money spent is a hard one to calculate as I have a good mix of stuff that were gifts and stuff I bought myself, although I know my personal investment is easily over $1,000. I've played through every single mainline game at least once, with the exception of green. A good few were for either for one or a couple of pokemon, mainly for the box-art collection. Yellow, gold, silver, crystal, sapphire, sun, ultra sun, sword, shield, and Brilliant Diamond are all cases of this. I wish you the best of luck for working on your Living Dex, the most important part is to have fun and make something that makes you happy.

The item printer in the league room from the indigo disc dlc! Think you can also get one of each just from side stuff in the dlc. They can also be gotten from the cramomatic in the isle of armour dlc, but I never had any luck with that.

when looking into it I couldn't find any proper, concrete, answer as to what is the exact flag for it, so I evolved him and then used the z moves a couple of times before transferring him just to be safe.

@@Turtle-Soup I decided to do a little test and thanks to someone doing a touch trade I learned basically you just need the Event Munchlax, evolve it into Snorlax, and give it Giga Impact since that’s the move it replaces with its ZMove.

So I actually tried after another comment mentioned it and it did work. I was under the impression that the leveling up was game specific, however it’s possible that that was either wrong or something that changed within the switch games

@@Turtle-Soup You're thinking of the fact that a Pokemon's Met Level is set to the Pokemon's current level upon transferring to Gen V or out of Virtual Console. I believe Met Level didn't exist before Gen V, but for some bizarre reason they kept the Gen VI 30-level-difference requirement for the Footprint Ribbon in BDSP (unless the Pokemon is "voiceless") instead of the Gen IV high friendship requirement. So, any Pokemon leveled up to 71+ in Gens I-IV or VC (and Pokemon first encountered at level 71+ in all games) can never get the Footprint Ribbon in BDSP unless they're voiceless, but every Pokemon encountered below 71 in Gen V+ can get it if they can move to BDSP. Since Pokemon GO's maximum level is 50, every Pokemon that comes from GO that can also go to BDSP can get the Footprint Ribbon. I make Ribbons.Guide, an app for helping to keep track of Pokemon and which Ribbons they can earn, so this was a whole rabbit hole I went down a few months ago to understand how this all worked. The Footprint Ribbon logic takes up more lines in my code than any other Ribbon 😓

@@Turtle-SoupI made a long reply and I think KZbin ate it because I accidentally included a link 😓 I think you're confusing it with the fact that a Pokemon's Met Level is set to its current level when it moves into Gen V or out of Virtual Console. I don't think Met Level was a thing before Gen V, so Gen IV gave the Footprint Ribbon for high friendship. For some reason, they didn't keep that behavior in BDSP, instead changing it to Gen VI's 30-level-difference requirement (unless the Pokemon is a "voiceless" species, for some reason? in which case high friendship is fine???). So any "voiced" Pokemon that is leveled to 71+ in Gens I-IV or in VC will be unable to get the Footprint Ribbon in BDSP because their Met Level will be set to 71+ when they enter Gen V or leave VC. Same goes for "voiced" Pokemon encountered at 71+ in any game, but since GO's maximum level is 50, Pokemon encountered in GO and sent to HOME will always have a Met Level of 50 or below so if they can go to BDSP they'll always be able to get the Footprint Ribbon there. I made a website called Ribbons Guide to help with tracking Pokemon and their Ribbons and the Footprint Ribbon logic takes up more lines in my code than any other Ribbon 😅

I’m just upset that many of my living dex mons got messed up and are considered illegal somehow even tho I caught and transferred them all myself. I’m told it’s because of the update that had to do with BDSP but I’m over it. It’s bad enough to make me seriously consider giving up on Pokemon entirely.

And to expand on my pain some more. Defeated, I went and remade a living dex based on ScaVio so I could finish it from there as more are added in later games. Except sorry, about half of these legit caught, bred and raised mons are now also considered illegal. Never mind the fact that ALL of my alcremies somehow became illegal just going from home, to my scarlet version, and now won’t go back. Those alremies took literal days getting all the evos both shiny and normal.

It really bugs me itens can't be on home/bank. Main reason I don't really transfer my pokemon foward that much. I didn't reset gen6 during the online arceus event and played all the way through gen7 almost 20 times each not to have my arceus and sylvally in all their forms.
