Hi everyone. Got a lot of plans of videos for this bike. I’m going to try hitting a lot of the top 100 climbs local to me amongst other rides

Nice intro to the new bike, enjoyed that music choice on the vid too! No experience with electric shifting but that feature moving between chainrings and dropping a couple of cogs automatically is a very nice touch. 🙂

Cheers Martin ❤️ I’m really enjoying pushing my self on the bike. It’s so responsive and the shifting is great. Got some plans after seeing your last video. Hoping to film one of them next week

I just got the same bike, Russ. I’ve put the Ultegra Di2 12 speed on it from my old Domane that died in the same crash at the end of May that put me in hospital for 8.nights. I’m building my fitness back after three on the on the fabulous new bike. Videos like yours and my old Strava PRs provide motivation (as well as my annoyingly quick 15 year old son).

Keep going mate. It’s a proper weapon of a bike. I really like the bike. Kids are mental at that age. My two are slowly catching me on the mtb and going faster than me downhill

@@CyclingwithRuss my 15 year old is now faster after my accident. Need to catch the bugger up again!

Awesome - good choice of music too. Do you prefer the Domane or the Madone? What about the stack height? Quite a drop to get on the Madone - still comfy?
@CyclingwithRuss4 ай бұрын
It’s hard to say tbh mate. I’m still coming up with my thoughts on that. Right now I’d take the Madone just for the pure fun factor of speed. However the domane is a fast bike and incredibly comfy but not as fast as the Madone. I will answer this in my comparison video. The position is more aggressive than the domane but not so much that I’m in pain. I’d need to do a 10 hour ride though to answer that properly. Most I’ve done so far is 6 hours in one go

Cheers! Both sound like an upgrade on the Ribble!

That paddle set up got me confused as well , I haven't loaded the app yet so still running with them Rse about face . The shifting and the close ratios ( Di105 12s) had me looking down to check it had shifted , the other great things are the hoods -they just seem as if tailor made to your hands , and the brakes are mega compared to my other bikes , I'm thinking about 36 as its all climbing round here .
@CyclingwithRuss4 ай бұрын
I realised this morning that on the app you can switch them around. I may do a short video later showing how to do it. The hoods are very nice in the hand and the brakes are 👌. The 11-36 cassette upgrade is worth doing if you live in a hilly area. It’s hilly where I live so comes in handy

Hi Russ. Love the bike, your Domane is a 56cm what you said was the better fit, interested to know what size Madone you went for.
@CyclingwithRuss4 ай бұрын
Cheers mate. I went for the M/L with is the equivalent of the 56cm. Trek don't use the numbers no more on the new bikes coming out. Although its the same size frame its a different position as the madone is a racier bike. Im going to explain more in a upcoming video

I bought the aero bottles and cages, but the price is a big ouch!

Yeah that’s what stopped me doing the upgrade. Father Christmas is due soon so maybe he will bring me some 🤣

Eh, the levers should be the same as mechanical. My Wahoo tells me the Di 2 battery life. That wire to the rear derailleur should should go under a little flange on the derailleur hanger. Had the Verse saddle on the Domane and I prefer the Aeolus saddle on the Madone. Good choice of tyre. At a mere 95kg, they work well for me. Love the paintwork. It shows up sealant when you get a puncture!

I’ve got that turned on my Garmin now. I realised this morning that I can switch them round on the app 🙈

I wouldn't bother changing anything for winter, the bike will be old in 5 years so I'd just enjoy it now.
@CyclingwithRuss3 ай бұрын
My wheels that are on that bike won’t get used over winter, I’d rather have my heavier wheelset to feel the benefit next year when they go back on. Also in colder temps the conti 4 seasons will be better as they stay malleable.

Madone over Domane for me too.
