Absolutely!! I love this movie and don't really enjoy other Cinderella stories because Cinderella and the Prince are usually so one dimensional and fall in love based on looks only, whereas, in this version, Cinderella is strong and opinionated and challenges the Prince to be a better person and ruler; their love story is more believable because they get to know each other before they fall in love.

For me this is my favorite telling of Cinderella because is different from all the others and love the angle that it showed
@Metzwerg743 күн бұрын
it gives the feeling of: "this is what happened". while all the others are clouded by the elaboration of the re-telling of a re-telling of a re-telling..... what those fairytales of the grimm brothers actually were, befor they wrote them into a book...

Love this movie so much! The scene where Danielle saves the Price, According to the IMDb for this movie, the Ledgend is that King Conrad III defeated the Duke of Welf (in the year 1140) and placed Weinsberg under siege, the wives of the besieged castle negotiated a surrender which granted them the right to leave with whatever they could carry on their shoulders. The king allowed them that much. Leaving everything else aside, each woman took her own husband on her shoulders and carried him out. When the king's people saw what was happening, many of them said that that was not what had been meant and wanted to put a stop to it. But the king laughed and accepted the women's clever trick. "A king" he said, "should always stand by his word."

love this Movie..🎥🍿 Drew Barrymore’s portrayal of Danielle’s Character Depth & her heartfelt performance is a perfect example of how strength and independence can coexist with Dignity & respect.. Not letting her Circumstances Define her.. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I first saw this on a transatlantic flight in the days when everyone had to watch the same film. I was sitting right next to a Slovak women's basketball team, and much of my enjoyment of the film was watching how much those young Slovak ladies enjoyed it.

Fun fact, if no one else has mentioned it. Dugray Scott, the prince, was the original choice to play Wolverine in X-Men way back in 2000, but he was filming another movie that went over schedule and was replaced with Hugh Jackman.

The story of Aschenputtel (or ‘Cinderella’ in the American version) has its origins in the European fairy tale tradition, particularly in the Brothers Grimm's collection and Charles Perrault's adaptation. Here is a comparison of the two versions: 1. German version Aschenputtel origin and style as I or we had read it in the book as childern. Published in the ‘Kinder- und Hausmärchen’ in 1812. Style: Rough and folksy, with darker and more brutal elements. Moral: Hard work, piety and justice lead to success. 2. American version (Disney's Cinderella, 1950): Based on Charles Perrault's ‘Cendrillon’ (1697), with adaptations by Disney. Style: Romantic, light and family-friendly. Moral: Belief in dreams and fate.

If you want a girl power movie, check out Shining Through. It’s Kirk, Douglas, and Melanie Griffith. She plays a secretary that ends up having to go to Germany as an undercover spy during the World War II. It’s a great story and she’s awesome without having to make it look like she has super strength to take down a 260 pound man.

The image of Danielle created by Leonardo da Vince(Patrick Godfrey) in the movie was inspired by the original work entitled en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Scapigliata (The Lady with Disheveled Hair 1506-1508) Still, as much good work as he has done throughout his career, I shall always idolize the artist as the man who opened a door. 🥰
