Suggestion for another RROOG game: Speed shunting: you have like a 25 cars long train and you have to sort it as fast as you can into a shuntyard. Rock climbing: you have to get a 25 cars long train up a steep (but short) 10% hill, you can double the hill, or do it 12 times, or try to get enough speed to clear it but the cars are not all the same weight so gotta be careful!

I have another idea for an event: A wagon pushing competition to see who can push the wagons the farthest. Everyone gets a train of three wagons, which they accelerate along a predetermined route. At a certain point he then has to stop the locomotive and must not exceed the area with the locomotive (similar to long jump). Whoever's wagons go the farthest wins. To make things even more interesting, you can make the acceleration area an "S" curve or something, or you can say that the wagons have to arrive at a certain area. Then you would have more of a curling event.

They could take turns tossing 1 wagon each time and whoever gets their wagon the closest to the desired spot wins. To spice it up, you can have the goal be right after 2nd of 2 consecutive switches that'd bring 3 parallel starting tracks into 1 (should work with the auto-switching that is now in the game)

You should draw a turntable shunt yard how it works is basically there is a turntable with an engine on a single-track alone ready to push the car that's on the turntable to another pair of tracks and there should be three tracks with splits and each split has to be on separate track so you can't just do track split them another split because that's just not how it works

@Nefarioulyte at the point, you have spent way too much money to build a road that can hold a train when it would have been cheaper to use rails. You would have no control over where the train could go since there is no steering. "What if there was steering?" I don't think there would be enough friction on the wheels to get it moving. All the weight would be on the inner most parts of the wheel. If there is enough friction, you will wear out the wheel pretty quickly. It's absolutely not feasible. The closest you are gonna get is the Australian road trains.
