I was in high school when Van Morrison scored a hit with his song, and I've always loved it. But Everclear's version really brings back the "feeling" of those days for me. It's not better, it's not worse. It's their version and hits me where I live.

When this AMAZING CD came out, my kids were about 5 and 3, put it on in the morning, full blast, for the whole house to wake up to. We all have VERY different music tastes, kids are now 25 and 23, we can STILL put this CD on, everyone in the house sings along to every song, still loving it after all of these years!

The song is a cover, Brown Eyed Girl is a highly covered song. The original version was by Van Morison back in 1967 and has had more then a dozen of covers of it since then. Anything in this music video is just their interpretation of the song, they didn't write it the song has been around and re done several times over nearly 50 years.

I don't like too many covers. Bands either ruin the original song, or copy it note for note and who needs that? This though is a really good cover of a truly classic song. It's true to the original while they make it uniquely theirs as well. Not that easy to pull off.

Beats me what Van Morrison would think, but I like it. It's a great sound, and a very good song, regradless if it's a remake or not. Like the ending of the video, you feel bad for the guy until you realize it's his sister, but you then realize he had a strained relationship with her. It brings the entire plot into a totally different light. I don't think it's "creepy" at all, at the end, to me, it seems he's just looking out for her and feeling bad for all the crappy things he did to her...
