Wahnsinn, ich hätte nicht gedacht, daß es soviel ausmacht ohne Phil zu singen. Es ist leider nur ein weiterer Sänger. Phil ist wirklich etwas besonderes. Seine Harmonie und sein Gefühl für laut und leise ist einmalig in der Musikwelt. Bis heute. 2022. Der Leadsänger ist nur so gut, wie sein Harmoniesänger . It's really good that their audience was rooting for them, for them both from the beginning, their first hit record. It's good that the break, the time and nature of it, was self determined by the duo, and productive individually. Family comes first; it always should. It is so good they reunited professionally, performing 26 more years; and that they, I believe, retired with grace, well-deserved respect. Perish the thought, think of the loss, the void, had they not reunited or one, the other or both passed on early. Those they touched, touched with their music, live, recorded, are so grateful, and fortunate. I can say that, feel that, and I wasn't there - it is a comfort for me now hearing them for the first time.

Don has a beautiful voice as does Phil but the real magic only happens when they sing together. After the Beatles broke up, it was the same thing. They all had successful solo careers but that Beatles magic just wasn’t there. As Aristotle once said, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

So...he just doesn’t appear to be enjoying the moment. Especially with those numbers we were used to hearing as a EB duo. I’m sure it must have occurred to both, during their solo years, that fans might also have a hard time adjusting. And then, the ‘83 Reunion happened! Wow!!! Thank You for a lifetime of Sweet Memories.🤗. (Through it all!)😉

@stepitupandgo67 - Old habits die hard. The brothers grew up singing on one mic because poor radio stations could not afford a lot of technical equipment. One-mic harmonies taught them how to listen to each other and blend their voices, which produced that immaculate close harmony that could never be replicated. It probably didn't occur to Don that Albert or anyone would need his own mic.

Well, Sue, everyone’s entitled to their opinion of course, and you’re clearly a Phil fan. All I’d say is that there’s huge agreement amongst musicians and music critics that Don had the best voice EVER for singing the lead in rock music. I think Phil has a lovely lilting tenor that suited the Everly’s harmonies, but for me, Don has an incomparable voice for solos and for harmonies. Most important is that we all love the Everly Brothers!

@@judeward5341 - I would never have thought of the phrase "musical chemistry" if I had never heard The Everly Brothers. Even their voices were stronger, louder, and more robust when they sang together. Phil produced four solos on the album, "Mystic Lines," that left me breathless, "Patiently," "Friends," "God Bless Older Ladies," and "The Words in Your Eyes." But even Phil's solo performances were not as powerful as The Everly Brothers singing together. The magic lay in the duo. Yes, "we all love The Everly Brothers!"

I love Albert Lee & he’s a fabulous guitarist….but he’s no Phil Everly!!! I don’t hear any harmony!! They were too good together ~ guess that’s why they reunited after 10 yrs!! ❤️❤️❤️😊😊😊
