Everwild | what happened to Rare’s magical new IP?

No matter how this game turns out, I'm thankful to have seen the original vision. It feels like ruination and bitterness are the core of everything we make these days, and Everwild's presentation is one of hope and love. What if we could reconnect and find harmony with our world like the Eternals? To heal nature and safeguard it instead of poisoning it. Such a nice thought for once.

Some rumors seems to indicate that Everwild could be a spiritual sequel to Viva Pinata. And I must say that it would be freaking incredible!

I’m not a gamer but I’ve been searching this game for new updates Almost every week , it just has such a distinct and mesmerizing energy and style , I’m down for whatever they do I’m just glad we got to see these concepts , ofc in my dreamworld this game is open world , can switch between selected characters like gta 5 , each having their own speciality regarding to nature and as the story goes the externals connect more with the world unlocking new powers , new creatures and new rituals

I think about this game at least once a week! Rare is used to making absolute masterpieces in their own genres. I loved Sea of Thieves, but the coinstant Pvp threat makes it hard for me to play it alone. I was hoping to experience their magic in Everwild (and got an xbox series S especially for it), but we haven't really heard anything about it in a while now...

The PvP threat in SoT is one of the main reasons why I love playing this game. It makes it exciting since you never know who might come after you and your loot. If you get some practice as a solo slooper, you will be able to outmanoeuvre other players, hell even sink them. SoT without PvP would be an absolutely undynamic and linear game.

​@Julian-B right, but I think they implied they enjoy the magic and setting that rare creates in their worlds, yet aren't a pvp player. I agree that sot wouldn't be great without pvp, but it's also the reason I am not interested in it. Hopefully this game actually comes out and gives us pve players something to look forward to :)

When i worked at rare in 2017 on sea of thieves i remember a small squad in the one of the barns prototyping this game, it was shortly after BOTW came out and they pretty much wanted to redo that game. I dont know much else and i know it must of changed quite a bit by now.

This game looks absolutely amazing. I havent been able to stop thinking about it since i saw the reveal. This could be xbox's breath of the wild. I dont mean gameplay wise, but the wonder of discovery and beauty.

Would ne nice if gameplay of this is shown on the upcoming June 11 showcase. Bit concerned that xbox may have put this on hold. If so; likely because it wouldn't fit the popular audience of shooty games/blood and guts flying all over the place

Everwild, i worried. Another victim of Microsoft forcing their studios to add 4-players co-op in their game. Scalebound - cancelled, Redfall doomed ... Even Halo can't do it, why M$/Xbox keep up this bs criteria.

The combination of co-op and open world really does seem to be a game killer. Halo 'Still' doesn't have splitscreen co-op. A foundational core feature of the series since the very beginning. I've gotta say, the combination of multiplayer with open world rarely seems to ever be worth the cost, one is usually heavily compromised or limited for the sake of the other.

The rare of today is only rare in name. Actually the rare right after Microsoft purchased them was only rare in name. Key og devs left the company during a brutal development of a GameCube flop and then even more left during the Xbox merger. Microsoft tried and gave them big budgets at first but they failed every time. Now rare has been coasting by on mediocre garbage for the last 15 years. I don’t respect this studio at all like Wtf are they doing just sitting back collecting a pay cheque.

@@Frogdoddofficial I don’t know why your so hurt. Rare was a dead on arrival company that made Xbox look stupid and pissed away big budgets. They were dying during starfox adventures and then they weren’t the same company once they arrived to Xbox. Now all they do is embarrass the company, waste marketing money, and they’re only money maker is a multiplayer pirate game. 0 drive to make a new single player experience, 0 drive to get any kind of momentum going for the brand, just update this mid game and wait for cheques.
