Nice channel I like your videos. It's interesting to see you DNF Neuromancer due to an adult sex scene and then DNF Eragon, which is kind of a young adult fiction book. Some of the older books, like Stranger in a Strange Land, have a different way of writing than modern SF/F and I'd challenge you to just push through that last 1/4 of the book and finish it, if for no other reason than it's a classic.

Appreciate it! And yes, I can very particular tastes for sure! 😅I do want to revisit Stranger in a Strange Land at some point to talk about it more in-depth. Maybe approaching it with fresh eyes will make me appreciate it a bit more.

Authors be like: Have a male and female character in a room together, they hate each other, they would never like each other unless they both change entirely as a person, which would be really interesting to explore and see how their relationship changes as they change as people and maybe they could learn to respect and even like the other because they help each to grow and ... Author: "SMOOCH, NOW!"

Personally, I think you’re better off not wasting your time with Witcher. But I know some people who would disagree, so it’s all subjective. So, of all the books you finished in 2022, which one was your favorite?

Makes sense, I will talk more in depth about my favorites in an upcoming video, but my two favorites from last year were The Road and Skyward. 😁

It almost sounds to me like you have yet to fully find your niche genre 👀 Some of my thoughts as an avid (fantasy) reader: Eragon was a good series, but then again I read it when I was 16 - 18 so who knows if it would survive a re read. Steelheart is imho an awful introduction to YA, maybe works well for young boys, but apart from that I would not suggest it to anyone. I found it interesting that you dislike explicit gore/ violence/ sexuality, as those are usually pretty common in adult fiction. Personal recommendation from me are the following: Legends & Lattes and the Shadow and Bone Trilogy (YA Fantasy, no explicit violence or sex and strong female MC) ~

Gotcha, thanks for the recommendations! Yeah I think I'm still discovering my niche in some sense so I'll be curious to see foe myself what really grabs my attention 😁

You don't have to fully understand dune, that is what a reread is for. I read dune four times and it gets better and better every time I read it.

Good to know! I got Dune on paperback and plan on reading it in preparation for the new movie.
