So with the gastrodon thing: In some areas of the world, particularly the Caribbean, beaches have sand largely made up of dead plankton which could be suggest that modern Pokémon scientists know that it eats sand for the plankton but to Laventon they appear to just eat sand.

It could be that it is eating the sand, with the plankton in it, and then filtering out the plankton and using the sand for its ground attacks. It would fix the conflict of ideas, and would make sense, as people of the past wouldn't understand that it was eating the microscopic plankton in the sand, and would think that its just eating the sand itself.

I see Lilligant living in the mountains as being symbolic of its brutality. Regular Lilligant live in grassy areas where you’d expect a flower to thrive, so they wear dresses and appear as royalty. This Lilligant lives in the mountains where one would expect it to suffer, but instead it has adapted, losing its dress for a more open and effective style. The new addition of the fighting type also makes sense, as fighting gives it coverage against ice. This suggests that Lilligant lives in the mountains to get stronger, and gained the fighting type as a way of surviving against the ice type Pokémon that live there. To me this is just cool cause it shows Lilligant as being an absolute beast that puts itself through struggles so it can come out on top.

My guess with Monferno: Those with lighter blue crests are higher ranking meaning they don't have to fight and hunt as often because the lower ranking ones are the ones that do that. The higher ranking ones just take the food. Therefore, the deeper blue are more likely to evolve into Infernape since they're the ones gaining experience from battles
@katiebrown3811 Жыл бұрын
It could also be a reference to how counter-intuitive nature can be; male lions with dark manes are more attractive to females but are more likely to be sterile due to overheating.

Perhaps brighter blue ones are inherently weaker, but were faster learners/were more intelligent? So they rose in the hierarchy due to being wiser or something. But the deeper blue ones perhaps were born with higher specs (like, i dunno, higher IVs or something) so they were stronger and did more of the tasks like fighting predators/fighting for territory, or tasks that end up easier for those able to produce hotter flames and exert more physical force. "Stronger" and "higher ranking" can go hand in hand, but it's not like their definitions are synonymous. Or since the entries talking about brighter blue are more recent chronologically, maybe over the course of time it took for Hisui to become Sinnoh, the traits that the Monferno found more favorable might have changed as their environments around them did.
@aaraujo30611 ай бұрын

the monferno entry is actually really interesting. Think of it like this... the Darker blue means it's more powerful, so they'd be the protectors of the tribe (assuming they live in similar groups to real life monkeys), while Lighter blue means they're a higher rank, with the lightest blue being the leader. About Samurott. The last part explains why it evolves like that because in older dex entries, it said that Samurott can usually knock down its foes in one swipe. However, in the Hisuian dex entry, it says it crashes into foes like ceaseless pending waves, which implies it needs multiple hits to knock down its opponents. This would make sense because the Pokemon in Hisui are much stronger than Pokemon in other regions. It would also have to adapt to the "crashing" part, so I'm guessing that's why its head looks like that.

I actually kinda love the idea of the Roselia thorns idea for a dual. I mean think about it. If you want to challenge someone to a dual, you have to seek out a Roselia (who might attack you, mind you), in order to pluck off some of it's poison thorns (And not get pricked yourself; otherwise you could die), to mail them to your opponent as a way to say "I challenge you." Not only is that a hardcore badass call out to say "I'm better then you" but, it also probably reduced the amount of duels only to people with actual courage... or stupidity. Also, Workrum being Murkrow backwards makes sense as a fun inside joke; but I do believe it's also a reference to Redrum, the infamous palindrome for Murder; which a flock of Murkrow would be.

Regarding Monferno, a "deeper" color doesn't necessarily mean "darker"; it could mean "more saturated." Likewise, "brighter" might not necessarily mean closer to white on the white vs black axis, and could instead mean "more vibrant" in a more abstract sense. So "deeper" might actually be being used with similar intent to the original. On a more "just my own perspective" note, with respect to blue in particular, I find that it's relatively rare to see shades of blue that are neither "light blue" nor "dark blue" but just "blue." As such, I think that "brighter blue" might actually mean "more saturated and closer to the middle of the white/black axis" (aka "royal blue"), which it would be less likely to mean for other colors; and "deeper blue" could easily mean something similar.

I like how they explain why the hisuian forms exist. It's very contextualised but what I can't wrap my head around is how based on the lore some of these Pokémon no longer exist.
@Selet1012 жыл бұрын
Some ideas you can think of for sure for each: Basculegion killed off the entire population of Basculin over the generations until they went extint in Hisui/Sinnoh. As shown in The pokemon show "Hisui Snow" no one trusted pokemon back then, which would cause mistreatment on Zorua/Zoruark, but over the generations people learned more about them and treated them better, causing the deep resentment that fills them to dissipate. Wyrdeer it seems was a cause of hunting to near extinction. The black orbs on dead Stantler were used as a medicine according to Laventon, and modern pokedex entries state they were hunted to near extinction for art. The knowledge of how to evolve was likely lost to time while stantler struggled to survive. Ursaluna and Kleavor more than likely lost the ability to evolve due to not having the means to do so, with Peat Block and Black Augurite probably no longer being able to be found, as it was already really rare even back then. Devidueye, Typhlosion, Samurott, Braviary, Goodra and Lilligant likely are just because they no longer live natively in Sinnoh, as they migrated to warmer climates. Sneasel, Sneasler and Avalugg i have no idea. Voltorb and Electrode is a mystery as well that i have no idea how to explain the changes.
@kit7022 жыл бұрын
@@Selet101 I'd theorize that Voltorb and Electrode changed over time to continue to resemble the Pokeballs they were trying to mimic in the first place -- as Pokeballs became made of material other than wood they lost their Grass typing (though imo this implies that it would have made a lot of sense for that line to *also* become Electric/Steel when the Steel type was introduced). Due to the Sneasel entry Michael pointed out in this video, I also think it's reasonable to suspect that the two forms of Sneasel got into some form of territory dispute and the Dark/Ice Sneasels managed to wipe out the Fighting/Poison types; despite Fighting types having an advantage over Dark types, the Hisuian Sneasels simply weren't as aggressive or cruel in their tactics. No idea about Avalugg, though. Maybe it was simply a case of them migrating to even colder climates after a while and losing their Rock typing to completely become Ice (and not be harmed by the increased cold). No idea what could have caused the migration. Maybe as Snowpoint City and the area around it developed, enough of the natural environment was lost it needed to migrate? Especially if it started getting bigger at some point before migrating; regular Avalugg is 2 feet and over 500 pounds larger than Hisuian Avalugg. Or maybe the snowy regions of Sinnoh actually became colder over time and Hisuian Avalugg couldn't survive there any longer due to its Rock typing. But all that is just hypothesizing and I feel a lot more certain that Voltorb and Electrode just "evolved" and that Sneasels and Weaviles just wiped out their Hisuian variants.
@Selet1012 жыл бұрын
@@kit702 Quite possible for Sneaseler just to have been wiped out by the Weavile line. Weavile are certainly more violent and vicious fighters. The thing with Electrode is though, the noble pokemon Lord Electrode has existed for centuries since the ancient hero. Poke balls only existed for a couple of years before the story of Legends Arceus. I feel that Poke balls are more based on Voltorb and Electrode than the other way around. The only way i can think of it as otherwise is if we somehow get an even more ancient version of the two that look even more different, and have a different kind of ancient pokeball that looks similar to them. Size doesn't matter for Avalugg though. It's stated they grow larger constantly their entire lives. Lord Avalugg being absolutely monstrous in size shows that. the Snowpoint area getting colder over time though, either forcing out their rock typing or forcing them to migrate makes some sense though. Sadly i doubt we'll get any answer unless Hisuian Avalugg is in Scarlett and Violet.
@MrHenhen52 жыл бұрын
@@Selet101 maybe laventon and the others who worked on the pokeball originally based it off of the electrode/voltorb. And then as the pokeball was developed more voltorb evolved alongside it
@gengarzilla16852 жыл бұрын
Weavile aren't _just_ more violent and vicious, they're also pack animals who work incredibly well in a group. Which gives them a pretty hefty advantage against a loner like Sneasler. If even the power and girth of a single Mamoswine can't beat off a hunting party of Weavile then I'd say Sneasler's got no chance.

I just caught something about the Typhlosion dex entry. For this, I have some explaining to do. The concept of purifying through fire has sort of been used both literally and symbolically for some time now, but I want to say that the connection between melting god and Purgatory have to do with this. First, Purgatory is not the same as Hell. In Purgatory (in some branches of Christianity at least), certain souls are purified before they enter Heaven. Here, souls aren't too far gone, they just need to "get cleaned up a bit" if that makes sense. This has been compared to smelting gold, from what I have been told by Christians that I've talked to, where gold is melted and the impurities rise to the top where they can then be easily removed. With this information, Hisuian Typhlosion could somewhat be based off the concept of Purgatory. If that's so, then do the souls it purifies suffer intense torment in order to be freed of their evil desires? Also, they totally missed an opportunity to turn ghost pokemon into good pokemon.

As far as Laventon's home region I think it's safe to assume that Galar has already become a pretty well developed region at the time of Legends Arceus judging by the fact that multiple villagers mention Galar and Laventon's manner if speech is pretty close to a Galarian native. My guess is that Copperajah have already been brought to Galar by this point in time to help it develop, likely from the other region that we may get to explore in the next games. If Laventon has an actual camera and with Pokeballs being a recent invention, it's not too farfetched to assume that.

To answer your question about the "heavenly maiden", the milkyway was named after a Greek myth. Heracles (or Hercules in Roman mythology) was born and Athena or Zeus (depending on the version) decided that the baby should drink Hera's milk while she was sleeping. While Heracles was drinking, Hera woke up in a startle so a ton of milk was splattered into space, creating the milkyway

Meanwhile, Hisuian Samurott's says that "its *Turbulent Blows* crash into foes like *Ceaseless pounding Waves*." This means that during its time in Hisui, it found that, since the opponents are much more hostile, it can't just take something down in a single blow and shut people up by just looking at them.
