26:20 I think the legendary bird pokedex entries make the most sense if you consider the Japanese names for Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres are "Freezer (フリーザー)", "Thunder (サンダー)", and "Fire (ファイヤー)". Known as Freezer, this Pokémon fires beams that can immobilize opponents as if they had been frozen solid. When its feathers rub together, they produce a crackling sound like the zapping of electricity. That's why this Pokémon is called Thunder. The sinister aura that blazes like molten fire around this Pokémon is what inspired the name Fire. So instead of these Pokemon being named after Pokemon from Kanto, I think its saying they were given the same names for different reasons.

I know this old but him reading the foongus one just makes me want to talk about all the lore Pokémon Scarlet brings, it’s so much and it’s so amazing just seeing it, mega evolution is just waking up dormant genes, but because it’s been so long they still look different and the fact brute bonnet still looks like a pokeball means there’s more of a reason for that then just looking like a pokeball, something in the prehistoric times made it a useful adaptation, and it just makes me want a full on teen rated Pokémon game where you have to try and befriend them without pokeballs to catch them

What's interesting about the dex entry for Metagross that you mentioned is that even though permanent magnets do tend to denature more slowly as temperatures decrease, they don't actually get stronger in the cold. However, electromagnets do get stronger as temperatures decrease because the metal in wires (or whatever the equivalent in Metagross's body is) becomes more conductive as the vibrations of atoms decrease. This means Metagross uses electromagnetism rather than containing a permanent magnet. I don't know if that is consistent with previous dex entries for it, but I believe it is, so good job Gamefreak, way to do your homework.

Upon further research, Lickitung: Height 6'6" Speed: 30 Lickitung is shorter than buzzwole(7'1"), but buzzwole is only a bit more than twice it's speed(only about 70, so buzzwole needs to be careful to not stay still for too long or it'll get eaten. Scolipede is bigger than buzzwole(8'2") and extremely fast, outspeeding buzzwole(a whopping 112) so lickitung is a no on scolipede Meanwhile Pheremosa, like scolipede, boasts an astounding 151 speed, but, funnily enough, is SHORTER than Lickitung, at only 5'11"

To explain why Kabuto's dex entries contradict eachother, we should remember: Omanyte and Kabuto are version exclusives. Kabuto's dex entry in Sword says that it is in the brink of extinction, which makes sense since Kabuto cannot be found in the Crown Tundra in Sword. This coincides with Omanyte's Sword entry since it says that it has populated to the point of being an invasive species. Kabuto's dex entry in Shield says that sightings of it is fairly common in some places, which makes sense since Kabuto takes the place of Omanyte in Shield. This implies that Kabuto is inherently a less invasive Pokemon than Omanyte is.

I actually have a theory for why some dex entries contradict: *the Pokedex for each region is written by that region's professor.* Professors have different theories about certain Pokemon. This could explain the Kabutops contradiction: Kukui thought he found out why Kabutops went extinct, but Magnolia disagreed.

The entries for the legendary birds do make sense since we've never seen variants of Legendary Pokemon, only shiny individuals (the beasts, Rayquaza, and celebi being the only ones for now.) I wonder if we will learn more of these birds in the future

Metagross being powered up by the cold is really cool (pun intended) because it relates to something interesting in physics: by supercooling certain nonmagnetised magnetic metals (like copper) you can produce a superconductor, a substance which not only has negligible resistance to electric current, but is also capable of warping magnetic fields so that the superconductor is simultaneously attracted and repelled by a magnet. Also, I think Beldum blood is some kind of ferrofluid.

Nah, I think it's because humans are their main food source and they evolved the pattern to lure in travelling trainers. They know people can use extra Poké Balls to store items, they saw that people tend to drop those items, and they aware that other people like picking up these free items.

I like to think that the Crown Tundra is being used as a testing ground for fossil Pokemon by scientist, so rather than just releasing a wild Tyrantrum in the middle of Kalos, the scientist are using the Crown Tundra's large lands with few humans as a place to slowly rehabilitate Fossil Pokemon that they have brought so they can see if these Pokemon are ready to be introduced elsewhere as well.

The meteorite strike mentioned in Calyrex’s entry must be the same meteorite mentioned in Eternatus’s entry. Ice rider Calyrex’s Shield entry says that it moved a forest overnight to save all the Pokémon there, which is likely also the meteorite event. This means that the location of Eternatus’s meteorite is somewhere without any plants, and that Calyrex is over 20,000 years old.

According to a video by Bird Keeper Toby, the forest Calyrex moved was the Slumbering Weald, whose original location was what is now Stow-on-Side as an extension of Glimwood Tangle, and its current location of Postwick is much closer to the Crown Shrine, in fact it's the border between the Crown Tundra and the main part of Galar. No one from Postwick to Wedgehurst (Hop notwithstanding, of course) dare even mention the events of the darkest day or the wolves. But the folks of Stow-on-Side and Hammerlocke and even Circhester mention the legend of the darkest day and Stow-on-Side even has a shrine dedicated to the heroes. True, it was covered up by graffiti, but a certain Copperajah happened to tear it down to expose the truth.

19:40 I feel like this is very important because I believe that there are actually 2 Different Pokedex's (Pokedexes?) Given to the Player character depending on what version they get (Sw/Sh) and that they are written by scientist and researchers who did their own studies on the species in different sections of the region. This explains why one would say that Kabuto is fairy common in some areas since they researched those areas but also explains why another researcher would be lead to believe that Kabuto is actually an endangered species since they studied in areas where the amount of Kabuto's are scarce. Just a little theory I wanted to pop up, hope you maybe think about it and wonder, love your content as always!

There's a hypothesis called "WAIR", wing assisted incline running. Running up hills is easier by flapping wings while you do it. The dunsparce dex entry is really cool because it's a parallel to real snake evolution! Dunsparce's wings are vestigial, which means that they used to have a purpose but over time, they evolved to not use them and they shrunk down. Snakes used to have legs and many snake species have vesitigial legs in the form of teeny tiny spurs (claw-like things), or even vestigial hips and pelvises! They may have lost their limbs by becoming more adapted for burrowing, which seems to be the case for dunsparce as well since it burrows with it's tail!
