EVERY KAYAK NEEDS THIS! Nucanoe Quick Connect System!

Why doesn't every kayak offer this option? Nucanoe has been storming the kayak and kayak fishing market with awesome ideas the past few years. Two of the BEST ideas they have come up with are the Gear Pod and Quick Connect system.
The gear pod, provides a removable storage hatch for some Nucanoe models. This can easily be converted into an all in one fish finder pod. This way, you can remove expensive electronics, or swap them over to another Nucanoe kayak!
The Quick connect system, allows you to use a rudder, motor, or pedal system on the rear of the kayak. Again, you can set this up to swap between multiple kayaks!
We think this system is really cool, and would love to see this option with more kayak brands out there!

I just ordered a fish finder and Gear Pod for my Nucanoe Flint. I have been scouring the internet for help on how to sort out where the wiring from the transducer needs to go for the best organization. It's tricky because most videos out there feature kayaks that have hatches close to where their transducers are, but the Flint only has that one hatch in the very back. I appreciate being able to see how you have your wires running!

Well hot damn! I do own the Cell Block setup but I also own a DIY Battery box/trolling motor mount setup. I load my kayak into the back of my Ford F'n Ranger and for ease of loading I made sure I could remove the sonar setup and the battery/motor to load the yak and reinstall it quickly on the shore before I launch. It goes from naked at about 80lbs to fully rigged at about 130 lbs in about 4 minutes. I run the same gear on two yaks, basically what you said, a ten footer for the rivers and a thirteen for the lake ;)

Fantastic Video! I built my topwater 120 with a Newport for 2k. Absolutely perfect for fishing small lakes and large ponds! Didn’t have to spend a fortune and I love my build! I love the Nucanoe because of the open space very similar to my kayak now.

This seems similar to what Wilderness Systems had with their Flex Pod before they were bought by another kayak company and the whole Flex Pod system seem to been abandoned.

Bonafide has a smaller version too but this whole concept of buying big chunks of the boat piece by piece and have them work for multiple models is pretty different

I have a unlimited including the pedal drive. I really love it but have nothing to compare it to.. I was wondering if you guys will ever do a review of the pedal drive ?

i have hobie drives and nucanoe pivot pedal drive.....i enjoy the hobie drive more than the pivot drive. with the quick connect system, however, the nucanoe becomes much more versatile and i would much rather buy a nucanoe over any other company due to their great customer service. the unlimited looks like a great yak, im sure u are enjoying it, i have a pursuit.

Another thing that’s big for NuCanoe is the modularity lets you car top a big water boat. I can breakdown my fish finder setup and remove my motor in less than 5 minutes. Having a boat this big only weighing around 80lbs is insane and a huge plus!

I think most people would just use the quick connect for the motor for ease of setting it up. NuCanoe makes it easier than trying to figure it out on your own.

This is one of the things that led me to the Unlimited. I can't wait to get the gear pod rigged with lights and a fish finder. What are your thoughts on having the graph mounted to the front? Can you access it for adjustments or marking waypoints from the seat?

For the price you just buy a new screen mount. Pop your screen out and pop it in the new mount.

@aaanglers you got a whole pod. What I'm saying is just the screen mount where the screen snaps into. I have the same unit but 7 inch and I have a hobie and solo skiff, so each one has a screen mount. So I unsnap my Garmin from one and just snap it into the other. You guys are talking swapping an entire storage box. Cool for Nu canoe, but wouldn't make sense for every kayak company. All Nucanoes seem to be shaped the same

@@chuanR35 Yeah 100% you could do that. We also got the extra cradle so we could do that, BUT, then we wouldn't have the water tight storage. We wanted something to hold batteries, wiring, gear etc. as well. Would be cool if other companies offered that option (other than bonafide on some of their models) is the point we were making.

I have one of those Cellbloks, it is NOT my favorite yakattack accessory. I dont love the extra weight hanging off the edge of my yak at all. I would much rather have the Gearpod.

You can diy anything. Look up diy quick release motor mounts then take those ideas to the home improvement store. After a couple projects you'll have a better idea of how to accomplish anything you want to. It's really only hard to get started. Once you start diy your own stuff it will be hard to buy stuff from others you think you could make yourself. After some projects you learn how to clean things up to look "professional".
