Imo Frank Gorshin's suit and boiler had is the best live action riddler look ever. Not only is it super iconic, it also created the Riddler's signature look for decades to come. And it has not aged at all. It still looks phenomenal

Personally Batman 1966 had (in my opinion) the best costume designs of any Batman, for riddler's outfit, catwoman's outfit, to Robin's suit, Batman's suit, all of the outfits from the 60's Batman is just appealing.

Why not do penguin as well, for me I’ll go with his mayoral look in Batman returns, the onesie was a bit much. When Colin Farrell was in the makeup I was impressed because he looked like a completely different person. The makeup department from the Batman deserves an Oscar.

Once I went as the penguin from the 1966 Batman TV show, however I didn't have the monicole because hey, I wasn't a rich man, and I did have the nose makeup because I found that to be quite uncomfortable.

As the other commentators have said, the cane and bowler hat could be introduced. The hat could be muted green to match his suit (going against the solid black of the Frank Gorshin and Cory Michael Smith versions), while the cane could be more like a blunt instrument like in the Arkham games. Regarding the question marks, I'd probably go with question mark cufflinks, a question mark tie pin, or even reusing the "Zodiac Riddler" symbol but emblazoned on his back (despite how ridiculous that sounds).

As much as I love the riddler he never really felt like a threat to Batman, he just felt more of like an annoyance to Batman just to slow him down, in the Batman he is a threat in that movie rather than being an annoyance. I will always love the 1960's Riddler & Jim Carry Riddler, but the 2022 Riddler is awesome.

The suit and bowler hat riddlers are nice and looks as though they’ll give you a riddle. Paul Dano’s zodiac killer style costume makes him look like a really unsettling serial killer who’ll just come after you right then and there, love it.

I should add that Dano's Riddler performance oozes of Jim Carrey himself, his Eggman, and his Lloyd character from Dumb and Dumber. In fact, I should think that the only reason Carrey wasn't the Riddler in Matt Reeves' Batman was because they needed a face like Dano's.

I really like the Riddler, he'd be on my top 5 Batman villains, but I think he's one of the hardest character designs to pull off in the more serious live-action takes. Unlike a lot of Batman villains, the Riddler isn't a character whose design is integral to their actual character. Two-Face needs a burned face, Joker needs to look like a clown, but there's nothing about the Riddler's character that demands he wear a bowler hat and green suit or green tights, so I didn't mind the design changeup for The Batman. I LOVED how they reimagined him in the new film, it's probably my favorite live-action design for him, but I'd never cite that version as the definitive Riddler. Then again none of the live action takes I'd say do a 1:1 of the comic character, but in certain cases I really feel like they don't need to if it fits the story, The Batman being a great example of that. The Gotham version to me never quite worked with the costume, I guess because despite being over the top at times they were still attempting to go for a more serious villain, and to me the Riddler's design has got an inherent amount of goofiness to it. No live-action version of Riddler that has the green suit and hat can ever be made to appear threatening to me. Frank Gorshin to me pulled off the classic look the best because he was in a goofier take on the Batman where that design, either the tights or the suit, completely worked with the style of the show.

Frank Gorshin's suits are my favorite, with the tights in 2nd place and the suit with the hat in the 1st place. Also, performance wise, Frank Gorshin was and always will be the definitive Riddler.

I don't think they'll necessarily go full bowler suit, but I think he'll be in a longer form of military jacket, still green, with his insignia and glasses. Unless Joker encourages him to dress a bit more showy, I guess we'll see how that pans out, but I'd prefer they not deviate too far from the very distinct visual style the costumes have in The Batman.

As much as I love every version (yes I don’t hate any of these or their actors) I’ve gotta say that Paul and his Zodiac Killer interpretation is my favourite, he and Matt Reeves kept the core fundamentals of who Edward is but reinterpreted him as less flashy trickster and more Zodiac Killer which is so terrifying and genuinely unnerving that it works perfectly to me, Corey and his costume is more accurate to the comics especially the modern ones but Paul’s unhinged serial killer was THE greatest performance in The Batman imo

I think the new version is too drastic of a departure. Elements of the classic look could be been incorporated. He could have wore a hat & sunglasses in his threat vids like news interviews where anonymous people are wearing wigs and their voice is altered. It's things like the Riddler's zodiac look, Batman's cowl, Catwoman's ski mask(?) that don't excite me for what they have in store for other characters visually.

Shoutout to GeorgeisLost, I get that reference All of a sudden everyone's respecting schumacher because he died. And Frank Gorshin is the best Riddler. Noone else will top him. Even Cory Michael Smith. But his purple tie suit in season 5 should be on the list (haven't finished it yet). The show isn't for me but it is objectively great. Frank Gorshin made the riddler popular, AND invented the tux and bowler hat for him. And Paul Dano Riddler outfit is nothing like the Riddler. I like the Arkham Knight look for how ridiculous and colorful it is (two different colors of question marks)

10:33 +1. Imo Michael Cory Smith is the best riddler of all the time. But don't get me wrong, Paul Dano has also done an amazing job, his own character was so deep, dark and even scary in some moments of the film, however he doesn't have this original spirit of Ed Nygma. Like for me, if someone cut all his riddles and question marks out of the film, I'd not really recognize him as the riddler. He lacks the black humor and the whole style that keeps in common with the original vision. That's why I prefer Michael Cory Smith's Riddler rather then Paul Dano's.

Gotham feel off compare to other adaptation of the The batman universe because. The writer made the show so that viewers didn’t need to know the lore of the franchise to be able to watch. They wanted to open it to a bigger audience. Which ended up working out for them as they got a lot of non bat man fan as viewers I was never a batman fan and cant say i ever watch a movie or series before gotham. And i loved gotham.
