If you want to discover what God thinks about adultery and sexual immorality, get out your calculator. Open your New Testament at the Gospel of Matthew, chapter one, verse one, and start reading. Add the number of times the author warns you against adultery, sexual lust, sexual temptation or sexual immorality. When you are finished with Matthew, open the Gospel of Mark and continue your exercise. Do this through every book of the New Testament until you arrive at last at the Book of the Revelation, chapter 22, verse 21, the end of the Bible.
What do you find? You discover that every author in the New Testament warns against sexual sin. Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, James, Peter, Jude-even the anonymous author of Hebrews-they all warn you against sexual immorality. Some more, some less. But every author of the New Testament wants you to be warned. That tells you something, right?
Let's talk percentages. Have you considered that 81.5% of the books in the New Testament warn against sexual sin? Of the 27 books, a whopping 22 discuss adultery, sexual lust, sexual temptation or sexual immorality in one way or another. And we're not just talking percentages either, but every type of book.
All of the gospels, for example, mention adultery or sexual immorality, or both. The book that gives a history of the early church (the book Acts) warns against sexual immorality. Examine all the letters that Paul wrote to churches, and you discover that he warned every church about sexual sin. Then consider the letters that Paul wrote to individuals. In every epistle but one (Philemon), he mentions sexual sin. Finally, look at the book that describes the end of the age (the book of Revelation). There, you guessed it, you find the sins of adultery and sexual immorality enumerated and warned against.
Why do you suppose every author of the New Testament warns you against sexual sin? Why does every genre of book (gospel, history, letter, prophecy) caution you about sexual sin? Why does the New Testament warn every group of people--Jews and Gentiles, sinners and believers, churches and individuals, leaders and followers, people then and people now--against the sinfulness and divine consequences of adultery and sexual immorality? Because sexual purity is important to God. God's will for you is your sanctification. That's why He wants you to forsake pornography and masturbation. God cares about your sexual sin because He cares about you. That's clearly something worth repeating.

Those who are struggling with this kind of addiction, It may look impossible to quit, (and it is impossible to fight with your own strength). Just make a decision with repentance, tell to God, I will not do it again, submit to God repenting, fully trusting in Him that He is able to deliver. (and consider yourself dead to this sin). God delivered me from the addiction in 2020

@joshthesmith77 you may want to know that plenty of Christian men who watch porn and masturbate as single men continue both activities long after marrying. Don't ask me how I know. Maintaining sexual purity is hard, even after marriage.

@@MakeNoProvision I understand but I don’t desire porn. I burn with passion and I am pulled to it because I have no way of fulfilling my desires the right way while married. 1 Corinthians 7:8-9. The Bible also says not to withhold from your spouse but for a time for fasting and prayer so that neither is tempted into adultery. When God gives me my wife then I won’t even consider porn because we can do things the right way to fulfill each other. God bless.

This popped up in my feed and I gave it a watch. Good topic and one that needs to be talked about. Something to think about though, your title emphasizes the 'why', yet you spend 3:30 of your 3:50 video citing all the places the warnings occur and then ending with 'because God cares about your purity'. Of course that is true, but uninformative. I would like to hear more of your why. How does it impact your view of the world and God's kingdom. Is it a gateway to greater transgressions and a slippery slope that will make it harder to come back from other things. Can it normalize your view of things in the world that shouldn't be normalized. That sort of thing. Cite the references in your writeup and give me 3:50 of your personal experiences and theological perspectives. I look forward to your next video.

Lust I understand, but where does scripture ban masturbation? And don’t use Onan, his sin was not impregnating his sister-in-law.

The Bible does not ban masturbation. You and I know that exposing our genitals in public is a sin even though the Bible neither forbids nor authorizes exhibitionism. We know that peeping though windows to watch others undressing or having sex is wrong even though the Bible is silent on the topic of voyeurism. The same goes for masturbation. If you and I study the Scriptures with an open heart, asking God to guide our thoughts, and meditating on God’s express design for sex as something that takes place only between a husband and wife (God has spoken expressly on this topic), we will discover soon enough why masturbation is sin. @Maikigai

@Maikigai Masturbation suffers the same problem of sexual immorality in men - the expenditure of seed. To understand what ages a man, look no further than: stress & replenishment of seed/seminal fluid. It is extremely costly for your body to produce semen, after all at the foundational level it is the meaning of your life, to succeed where your parents and all of your direct ancestors succeeded - reproduction. So rule 1: Stop, think, go do something productive instead. Because It's killing you, slowly, and its effects are far more potent if you are doing it at a young age (worsened eyesight, terrible memory, feelings of depression and loneliness, not growing to your full genetic potential height). Leave yourself alone, let yourself develop, and you'll realise that the seed that you've been wasting will improve ever other aspect of your life. Another rule, and probably the one that pairs best with rule 1, is rule 2: avoid lusting. You are a human soul, in an animalistic body. The animals go around their business and at a certain time, they dance and fight for the right to reproduce, the best dancers and the best fighters are the ones with the most skills. You get skills by working on yourself, not by sitting alone in a room and touching yourself to dirty images on a screen. None of this is taught in mainstream schools, because if it were, we wouldn't have people growing up without ambitions and wants and needs. There'd be no one to work at McD's!

Then why isnt masturbation mentioned by name like adultery, fornication, homosexuality, etc?

The Bible couldn’t possibly be large enough to mention every forbidden act or every authorized act. Plus, you face the problem of innovation. Technologies exist today that didn’t exist when the Holy Spirit inspired the authors to write the books of the Bible (that’s why the Bible is silent about Tinder and virtual reality headsets). There is simply no way that the Bible could be a rule book that governs every possible activity for all time. You and I know that exposing our genitals in public is a sin even though the Bible neither forbids nor authorizes exhibitionism. We know that peeping though windows to watch others undressing or having sex is wrong even though the Bible is silent on the topic of voyeurism. The same goes for masturbation.
